This story describes how when gameplayer were doing research on home and its users found that people on there may be using home for things other than just socialising.

"While doing some research on ‘who actually buys HOME clothing’ we happened across a fellow in a cowboy hat (who we'll call 'Jed'). After telling Jed who we were and why we were here doing research, we had an interesting discussion about why he bought the cowboy hat, and virtual belongings in general."

Ha, asking for a cam like this "jed" guy did hardly equates that Peds use HOME. I mean, I know they do, but this case is hardly proof. Besides, peds are not that blatant. They're cautious and cunning.

I wouldn't be asking to see someone so young on cam.

Of course you wouldn't. Neither would I or any other ... normal person. But hey, being abnormal doesn't equal automatic pedophile. Now, wierdo, yeah.

It's hardly news though imo. Whereever there are chat rooms, there are peadophiles.

Wherever there is internet access, there are pedophiles.

Wherever there is oxygen, there are pedophiles. Yes, like that one standing behind you right now.

Too bad for him, I'm over the age of consent. D:

Not that it exempts me from harassment in such situations. Luckily, I haven't encountered too much crap like this on XBL, but I almost always join games where I already have friends waiting.

I'd like to think I am very cautious, but even I didn't think of some of those issues the article brings up. Truly a new frontier.

At least the second story gives some hope to normal people on Home, moderators appearing out of thin air would certainly get the drop on a few people.

I know, I remember a time when pedophiles were innovative and original. Now it's just the same old same. Not like the good ol' days

    quote excerpt
Locust pops out of nowhere and I believed he suspended that guy since the avatar immediately went away. Then my sister's Home avatar literally teleported to some other area of the Plaza with Locust and he asked my sister if she knows how to report. The guy was still harassing my sister via PSN messages though (on my account too -_-).
That is pretty interesting. SOny is actually patrolling things. Though actually, I knew about it, but I never heard anything about one actually showing up to stop someone from harassing anybody.

Sexual predators also use MSN, ICQ, AOL, or any other network were they can meet youngsters.
Besides, I think Home is rated 18+ ( can't check now at work ).
    I guess that's for a reason.

      No, Home is 13+

So that means you better behave yourself because you're also conversing with minors. Which is a major problem . . . most people don't behave on HOME. Or even act human for some!
