EA has announed sales figures for two of their new IP's that came out this fall. At the end of 2008 Dead space sold a little over 1 million on three different platforms. Mirror's Edge also sold a little over a million only on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC version was released in 2009 and sales were not added.

During a conference call today, EA CFO Eric Brown noted that both EA Redwood Shores' Dead Space and DICE's Mirror's Edge sold over one million copies each in 2008.

The figure includes all versions of the games that were released in 2008. The action-horror shooter Dead Space was available on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, while the first-person parkour game Mirror's Edge hit PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in 2008.

I can't speak for Mirror's Edge, but Dead Space definitely deserved more recognition. It was more than what I expected, and was definitely a surprisingly good survival horror game, especially coming from EA.

Considering both were multiplatform it is not surprising, expected more really.

Especially DS.When you consider it was on 3 different platforms, you would expect it to sell more.

Definitely going to pick up Dead Space soon enough, heard great things about it. Mirror's Edge just seems too short, though I would like to try it...perhaps after a price drop.

I'm happy EA is going our of their comfort zone and making games like this. Dead Space builds up atmosphere like no other horror game before, and Mirror's Edge is as inventive as it is stylish. I enjoyed them both, happy to see they're selling well.
