Last week Miyamoto had said that he can make Halo 3 but he chose not to. Well this week Bungie hits back at him taking it as a personal challenge.

A seemingly narked Bungie has responded to comments made by Nintendo legend, Shigeru Miyamoto who claimed he could make Halo.

Last week Miyamoto was quoted saying: "I could make Halo. It's not that I couldn't design that game. It's just that I choose not to."

Taking that as a personal challenge, Bungie's Frank O'Connor told Joystiq: "I just want to go on the record and say that Bungie is hard at work on a side-scrolling platform game featuring some plumbers - I'm not going to say what their ethnicity is, it's none of anyone's business."

He went on to say: "We took [his comments] as a gauntlet, a sort of glove slap, and we're going to respond in 2D scrolling style. That's all I'm saying."

We'd rather Bungie continue being hard at work on Halo 3 right now because, whilst we have the multiplayer beta, we want the full game and we want it now!

To be the man, you gotta beat the man! Bungie clearly took Miyamoto's comments to heart, though I can't be sure how Miyamoto himself intended things to come across. Was he dismissing Halo entirely, or just making shooters violent for the heck of it?

NO, what he was saying was halo isnt that special. He could have made it, but choose not to. There making praise that halo is the greatest FPS game ever. My take on it is its over-rated. Sure its a good game, But there taking stuff that other FPS did b4. While adding in 1 or 2 things that was original.

Personally, Miyamoto shouldn't act like some superdude just because he's a Nintendo Legend, not to mention that was just uneccessarily rude on his part as well. The only thing he's got on Halo is the Metroid Prime series, and it's not exactly as epic as Halo's reputation, it seems.

Actually he wasnt acting like some super dude we was just saying i could have done halo. Its nothing special. And halo is still over-rated, cause the fact halo took what tons of FPS did b4 that and added a few new original ideas. So its not epic, maybe for xbox sales, without it xbox wouldnt be in the same league as sony.

Miyamoto and his amazing fast pace abilities could surely outwork the 200-man staff of Bungie.
