New DLC has been announced for recent Valve zombie slaying game Left 4 Dead. The pack includes 2 new maps and a brand new multiplayer mode entitled 'Survival' one can only guess that this mode means something along the lines of getting together with your team of four and surviving wave upon wave of crazy zombies.

Valve announced plans to update its co-op zombie shooter Left 4 Dead (PC, X360) today, revealing that a "Survival Pack" will be released this spring.

The DLC will include a new multiplayer mode titled Survival, as well as two complete campaigns for the game's existing Versus Mode. No details regarding availability or pricing were announced, but Valve traditionally updates its PC releases for free.

AWESOME been a while since I've played, this'll be the perfect excuse to get started again. Can't wait.

Oh good, some more content definitely doesn't hurt...hell knows there's barely any in the game itself.

Left4Dead is one of the most replayable games I've played in a long time.

What does that have to do with my comment?

Awesome...but I may get too hooked on this game with this new DLC. Hope I'm free of assignments during the week of this DLC release.

Suprised really, Valve don't see the type to support games after they've left the cradle. The episodes of Half Life 2 don't count, as they are just a substitute for Half Life 3.

Valve have actually supported a lot of their games, updating them as well. Team Fortress 2 has gotten much support, Portal has also gotten an update or two.

...Honestly Valve is pretty much the ONLY people to support games post-release at such a level. They even let you download it for free.

Where'd you even get that impression in the first place?

I guess I meant non-traditional DLC. Half Life 2's episodic content, the Orange Box etc. I guess it just looks a little odd to be releasing plain up DLC (extra maps and modes), though I guess TF2 gets some of that, I forgot that was one of their games.

It's not just 'some' though. TF2 has gotten class upgrades, a new mode, new maps, and a good amount of balancing. It updates quite oftten.

HL2 gets tons of mods, not from Valve but eh, they don't mind it. And as mentioned, it's all free.

I've been waiting for this! Survival mode sounds fun, although I've already been doing that on Versus mode with my friend. We just camp out in the safe house while our teammates run off and just fight off the hordes and special infected til they outsmart us.
