Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 confirmed

We all knew this was coming, the manager of Infinity Ward has now confirmed that the next titled in the Call Of Duty series will now be subtitled "Modern Warfare 2". Though we do not yet know which platforms it will be appearing on, we can safely say it will be on PC, 360 and PS3.

Infinity Ward community manager Robert "fourzerotwo" Bowling has confirmed that the developer's next Call of Duty entry, due this fall, will be subtitled Modern Warfare 2.

"Reviewing some radio-chatter VO we just finished recording for Modern Warfare 2 today," read Bowling's Twitter. 'Cujo Two-One this is Vulture, solid copy on all.'"

        I know, I read it.

        What I was saying is that I never saw the second article where it was labelled as a rumour by Infinity Ward.

          Its the Fourth major entry to the series, Unlike the seperately titled Old-gen and handheld versions, so it makes total sense. Adding WaW as a major entry it would still be the 6th.

          Can even check the main site or Wikipedia if you want, Its the forth of the main series excluding the spin off titles, that's how almost EVERY game series is numbered. If you was right that would mean that the next final fantasy would be in its 20's there'd be GTA13 and RE would be the in the double digits, so if you've got a problem with how the developers choose to number their games, take it up with them :L

          Road to Victory is a standalone game that should be in the main series. If Wiki says otherwise, I'll correct it later.

          Roads to victory is a PSP game, so it's not part of the main series.

    Let's see, we had Modern Warfare, then WaW, now Modern Warfare 2, I'm gonna go on a limb here and say...after it'll be another WW2 game! What's next though, Kokoda?
