Battlefield Heroes gains over 100,000 closed beta sign-ups

Still with no official release date and the initial guideline of "summer 2008" being in the past, it seems there are still fans wanting in on this free to play version of the franchise.

Currently the official BFH forums are being filled with predictions from players ranging from the second beta phase being "ready" for launch as soon as next week to the more outrageous prediction of BFH being forgotten when the freshly announced Battefield 1943 and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 hit the shelves.

It is still uncertain of "how many" of the 100k will be gaining beta keys but Ben Cousins, senior producer of BFH has stated that all 100,000 have a chance of getting into one of the parts of the beta.

To me this indicates several more beta tests due to the "one of the parts" and that they will be slicing down the 100,000...question is, how many will get a beta key?

    I understand they're trying to rip-off Team Fortress 2 but this makes me cringe. It's like they added horrible MySpace pages in there.

      They are not trying to rip off TF2, the only thing that even remotely relates it to TF2 is the cartoon style graphics and don't even know where you get the impression of myspace...so no my friend you do not understand at all.

      DICE don't use that method, you get a key by either signing up or winning a key through their beta key contests, the first phase they did give several hundred to various fansites and gaming sites for contests, which I have referred DICE to Neoseeker and the response I got was more or less: We're not looking to do beta key contests just yet but when we do, we will get into contact

      When that is, couldn't say but it's a good idea to check their site once in awhile
