During a recent panel at a comic con, Gears 2's writer revealed Epic has a 10 year plan in the works and when questioned about single player DLC, told fans to 'Keep watching' and that we 'Won't be dissapointed' also the new Gears of War movie will be the first in a trilogy, we all already know the Gears games have been revealed to be a trilogy as well.

During a panel at this year's New York Comic Con, Gears of War 2 writer Josh Ortega revealed that developer Epic has a "a ten-year plan" for the action-centric franchise.

"Gears is long-term. The lancer is the new lightsaber," he added, according to IGN. The statements came in response to a question about a potential prequel.

Campaign DLC seems weird for this game. It'll be fun or should be for me, I just don't know how they'd do it for this game.

It's too late, Epic. You've already pissed off way to many fans of the first game with your crappy sequel.

Worry about making Gears 3 great instead of wasting time with DLC.

Gears 2 was dumbed down to appeal to the more casual and "not so good" gamers, especially those that are fans of the shooter genre. I'm not saying that everyone on Gears 2 is bad, but the field is more balanced INTENTIONALLY and its not fair to the more experience and better Gears players.

Besides, Gears of War was a giant success, and it was mainly by accident. Epic got too cocky with the sequel and messed things up. I personally know atleast 6 people (along with myself) that have already sold Gears 2.

I really loved Gears 2. Sadly, I loved Gears 1 so much more. But I always expect the "Number 2" in a trilogy to be the middlechild without proper focus and sometimes lacking the original direction. Bring on Gears of War 3!!
