From the details listed from the source site, Dante's Inferno is shaping up to be an extremely creepy game which uses its fear aspects from Dead Space and the beat em up style from God of War. The game itself details Dante's trip through hell.

The first solid gameplay details regarding EA Redwood Shores' poem-inspired action game Dante's Inferno, due out this fall, have arrived via UK print magazine PSM 3.

Described by the magazine as "Dead Space meets God of War in Hell," Dante's Inferno apparently borrows the atmosphere of EA Redwood Shore's action-horror title Dead Space and mixes it with the beat 'em up gameplay of SCE Santa Monica's PlayStation-exclusive God of War franchise.

    So its a combination of one of the greatest action games ever AND arguably the best game of 2008 (Dead Space was to many people)?

    Sorry, they are giving Dante's Inferno way too much credit.

      You really can't say there giving it too much credit until we see some actual in game footage, till then its just word of mouth.

        From the "Trailers" I've seen that have shown glimpses of gameplay, this game doesn't hold a candle to Dead Space, and it certainly is no God of War.

        Its just stupid to compare this title to such well-established and respected titles when we haven't even been given much info on the title.

    man, i hate when they say "this meets that = those". If it IS really that awesome, then it shouldnt be neccessary to do that, it'd have it's own merit and be something great in it's own right I wanna know why THIS game is awesome, not why those other games are awesome. Generally speaking I mean, I don't even care about this game I dunno what it is looks gay.

      Wouldn't you rather a game was compared to one already out that alot of people respect and that has a fanbase which can pick up this new game, or would you rather they just go 'eh, its a game'.

      It's called marketing ; ;

        Nah man, I'd rather they say "This game is a freakin awesome shooter, blow up alien's brains and dance on their eyeballs" sorta thing I don't wanna hear "this game is X + Y = Z" that gives me no incentive to play it, for 2 reasons, first reason being, i do not keep a collective archive of games in my skull, so if they say X+Y=Z, im gonna have to go read up on X and Y, before Z. Secondly, if they have to say "this is the new halo" or whatever game, then quite clearly, it is NOT. Because what was halo, halo was not the new halo. It didnt exist that would be a paradigm . I would respect it more, if they say "this game is the pinnacle of its genre" or "forget about all other games and connect yourself up to an IV, this game will be all you need for the next year of your life". It is marketing man, but unfortunatley, its LAME marketing. Lazy.

        Thing is, you dont want to give a game too much hype, especially when there is no previous history with the title. It's understandable for games like Halo 2/3, Gears of War 2, and God of War 3 to have high expectations because they've put out quality in the past. With this game though, I think its better to keep the hype down to a minimum because otherwise you're only leaving your game open to disappointing a lot of folks.

          I agree man, I'd say, bottom-line is, if it's THAT good, then it doesnt need the hype. It's not an old timey circus we don't need to hear when the clowns or the strong man or the bearded lady are coming on. Of course, you need to advertise. But if you plant too many ideas in people's heads, about what it's supposed to be, (or what it's supposed to be replacing even); then you're gonna create a conflict of ideas. Can't please all the people all the time.
