All the websites and gaming magazines that have been listing Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 with the "Fusion" part in the title, now has to change it. Activision has officially axed "Fusion" from the title.

Back when the sequel to Marvel Ultimate Alliance was announced, it was called Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion. Activision, however, has decided to make a change.

The game will now be known simply as Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2.

Kspiess approves this change. The "Fusion" is unnecessary. If anything thing, they should call it Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Civil War.

I never got the "Fusion part of the title. I can see the title "Civil War" work

Civil War sounds better, in my opinion. Fusion wasn't really necessary. It's just supposed to be a new gameplay feature; it's doesn't seem worthy to be part of the game's title.

That would be like "Halo 3: Forge" or "Left 4 Dead: Online Co-Op" or "Gears of War 2: Broken Multiplayer."

Fusion was to stress on a new feature this game was bringing to the table, but I agree, it doesn't need to be in the title to promote the new Co-Op moves.

I say drop the Ultimate Alliance crap all together and just call it Marvel: Civil War. You know every comic fan on the planet would be clamoring to play the game version of one of the biggest comic book events of all time. And you could follow it up with the sequel Marvel: World War Hulk. Which would allow for the spin off Planet Hulk game. People would love it, as long as they get the gameplay right.

DC of course could fire back with a line of Crisis based games.

Ultimate Alliance seems to want to reflect too much on the Ultimate Universe (which isn't the case with the series, as it mostly borrows from the 616-verse).

As far as calling it Civil War, I don't think it's entirely necessary. It looks like the game is going to use it's own retelling of Civil War, but with plenty of other elements thrown in there. Chances are the Civil War aspect is going to play a major role in the story, but there are going to be others thrown in there. I don't want to guesstimate, since the last game's 'ultimate' ending provided quite a lot of meat to follow up on. If that would be any clue, there's a hell of a lot that could happen in MUA2.

Can't wait for the next one!

Hulk is already going to be in this game though (all platforms this time, so I hear)

The Crisis story is pretty all over the place, then again, it's not like MUA's story wasn't...Crisis is just much more all over the place, heh. But yeah, the battles throughout those series were sick.

So make it a series of games. It is about time DC did something good with their games. All was have had is crappy Superman games and mediocre Batman titles. MK vs DC is probably the first time they have done anything with most of the other major characters. And it wasn't all that good either. DC games have a tendancy to suck. But if they at least have a decent story line to build off of maybe they could finally get it right.

Civil war is pretty all over the place itself. I mean you have Frontlines which is the main body of the story and was a great way to tell it. But there were also all the major characters side stories. Cap, Ironman and Spidy being the main ones. I would guess they would primarily stick with Frontlines.

Well it wasn't the first time, there's also Justice League Heroes a few years back, but yeah I see what you mean. They don't really deliver on their games, but then again, DC-related games don't sell too well, least not as much as Marvel. For Marvel, they simply have to slap a name on the cover, like Iron Man's movie-adaptation. That game was horrid, but sold well.

Let's hope DC Universe Online does well, so that they can deliver on other games in the future.

I can't wait to take team up Ironman, War Machine, Cable and Bishop. That's going to be nuts.

I really dug the last game -- although it did get kind of boring after about 2/3rds of the game, and was way, way too easy...but still, looking forward to this one.

I played the hell out of it. Now it's hard to do particular parts of the game. They do need to add some more zazz to it. Maybe a friggin' over the shoulder camera perspective, or some better AI for team mates. Example: All your buddies do is freaking rush enemies and make with the fisticuffs. They do little, if any damage at all, and likewise take very little damage. This is done to give the effect that the ass-kicking heroes are all about dog-pile ass kicking, but the way it's done in comics, and in the first game, is very very far from similar. IE: Why aren't fliers zipping around and firing bolts from the gods at enemies? Why aren't puny (no super strength) heroes staying the hell away from 14 foot tall hulking super soldiers, and instead AREN'T using their special talents from a distance (eye blasts, flame throwers, telekenisis, etc)?

Could do more. Especially if you're going to have heroes take on other heroes. That needs to look goooood.

I agree with kspiess about the "fusion" part being unnecessary, but I think it would sound better if they called it "War of heroes" or something like that.
