New details for the upcoming God of War game have been leaked, one of the major ones being that the trilogy itself will not be the end of the franchise, but will contain some sort of resolution to its current storyline. The rest of the details at the source will have fans of the franchise drooling for more.

The first details of SCE Santa Monica's PlayStation 3 beat 'em up God of War 3 have been revealed by way of a preview in Game Informer magazine.

While a multiplayer component has long been rumored, the magazine confirms that the action sequel will stick to its single-player roots.

    Yup, that's awesome news!

    It's not all that surprising though - the God Of War engine is probably one of the greatest achievements in action-gaming. That's not the sort of thing you just throw away after three games.

      Norse or Egyptian. Take your pick. They were both pretty brutal eras with memorable mythos to boot. I'd much prefer Egyptian since they could make Anubis into one badass enemy.

    Well, I just hope they don't make it GoW4. A new name would be far better. Also, no ties to Kratos, please.
