Sakura Taisen Coming to DS

Chaos Swordsman | May 15, 2007 | News | DS
A new Dungeon RPG is confirmed to be released on the DS and will be released in Japan on May 30. Unfortunately, not many details are available as of yet, but hopefully Gemaga's interview with Hiroi will reveal some details once it's published.
Sega held another one of those Sakura Taisen fan events on the 13th, drawing thousands of fans of cherry blossoms and war to the Nippon Budoukan arena in central Tokyo. Reporting from the event via its official blog site, Japan's Gemaga magazine (formerly an all-SEGA magazine) reveals that series producer Ouji Hiroi took the stage to announce that a brand new entry in the series is in development.

It shouldn't come as much of a surprise given the current state of the Japanese market, but the new title is for the DS. It will be a dungeon RPG and will feature characters from the three branches of the franchise's main fighting group, the Imperial Flower Branch, Paris Flower Branch and New York Flower Branch.

Gemaga scored an interview with Hiroi. We presume more details on the new game will be presented in the interview, which hits Japanese retail stands on 5/30.
