Resident Evil 5 producer Masachika Kawata recently told Eurogamer that, while an RE5 port is unlikely, he is interested in making a brand new Resident Evil game for the Nintendo Wii.

Thanks to the magic of translation, Kawata-san hinted to Eurogamer TV that Nintendo fans shouldn't despair that their console isn't powerful enough to handle the high-def horror of number five.

"Personally I would like to create something on Wii in the Resident Evil family," he revealed. "At the moment we don't know and have just been working on RE5, so watch this space."

As long as it isn't a numbered RE (or a dumbed-down port), I'm fine with it.

Sure I have a Wii so I'd play it anyway, but it'd be such a kick in the balls for most RE fans if RE6 was Wii exclusive.

Well Resident Evil 4 looked perfectly fine to me.
if they use the Quantum Engine that High Voltage developed, then i'm sure it will look good.
