Lego Prince of Persia

Oh god, it has finally happened, Prince of Persia are to follow Indiana Jones and Star Wars and be lego-fied! Will this prove to be a hit with the younger generation as Lego Star Wars and Lego Indiana Jones has though?

During the New York Toy Fair over the weekend, it was announced that, continuing with their recent fascination with recreating famous movie scenes/characters, LEGO would be releasing a line of LEGO figures and playsets for the upcoming Prince of Persia movie.

Sure, the toys will be based on the movie, and not the game, but it's a movie based on a game. So, in a roundabout way, we'll have the first LEGO toys to be made from a video game series, and not the other way around.

The toys won't be out until April 2010 (the film isn't due until 2010 either). And, being a LEGO series based on a movie based on a video game, it'd be a brave man to bet against a video game adaptation turning up around the same time, despite any potential licensing issues that may stand in the way.

    I never thought that there would ever be a Lego Prince of Persia video game. Traveller's Tales should go with Lego Spider-Man or Lego Harry Potter before doing this game.

    Haha LEGO God of War would be pretty awesome tbh, i would definately buy them all since they would be God of War. Lets hope LEGO can pull this off and if a videogame is in the works, lets hope the LEGO Game is a big hit like the others before it, such as LEGO Star Wars, LEGO Indiana Jones etc.

    Yeah, the Lego games seem to have really hit off with fans and casual gamers alike. I bought Lego Star Wars II for the PS2 and I was amazed by how awesome it was. Hope this turns out just as good.

    Just remember these are the actual lego toys, not a Lego video game yet.

    There is a slight possibility that this game won't work well. Think about it all the POP games were aimed at middle aged teens and all the Lego conversions have been made for children. It's like saying you want to make a Lego GTA and think it will sell. As for the possibility of middle aged teens liking a Lego version of POP I think is very low.
