For European players of Rockstar's GTA IV they got an unwelcome surprise when the latest title update censored parts of their games. Rockstar has released a statement via blog that this was indeed a mistake and they are working on a fix to be released within hours.

“We are aware of an error with the latest GTA IV title update and are confident the issue will be fixed within the next few hours,” said a rep.

“We apologize to our fans for any inconvenience caused.”

It was reported earlier today that Europeans had noticed pools of blood missing from around corpses, and camera angles dropped from sex scenes in the game.

Many had assumed The Lost and Damned had been the cause of the changes, by, as you can see, it was the separate patch.

Still, not to worry. You’ll have you blood back pronto.

Lol, who would complain about missing pools of blood?

People who like having gore in the game. Or even people who just want to play the game they bought without unwanted additions or removals of features.

That's the only reason I care about our version of GTAIV being edited.

But that's because we have no laws for ratings on games in Oz. It sucks but under Krudd it isn't going to change.

Most likely wiping data while making some changes to the files for the update.

It's still weird that it would be stuff like blood and such. If it was an accident, it's odd that it would be stuff like that.

Something like the third telephone pole on such-and-such street disappearing or a glitch with one of the Sprunk machines seems more like an accident.

I saw a video for this and it was pretty amusing.
