As mentioned last week, Braid is coming to the PC, though up until now a release on Impulse only was confirmed with other deals said to be in the works. Contrary to what some suspected, the game will be showing up on Valve's service Steam, also on March 31 and for the same price point of $15.

The difference with this version is the inclusion of achievements and "community features".

Is this why Braid's on sale for gold members right now?

Yeah, could be savvy marketing to provide an incentive for those pc/console gamers to go for the console version. Microsoft gets its cut and diminishes PC sales, at least in theory.
