This could be the breakthrough to the more classic style of game play with two thumb stick racing games, shooters, etc for the wii, though I wonder why when a lot of the appeal of the wii is for the technology of the original wii remote.

Breakthrough? The Classic Controller has been avaliable since the Wii's release. This is just a new version that fixes some of the problems people had with the first design.

Apart from being a carbon copy of the PS2/3 controller. Looks good.

Would have rathered the controller stick on the left though (like the 360 controller).

This is just a thin classic controller and normal classic controler welded together. No major breakthrough.

Aussie...you do know that the PS1/2/3 controller = SNES controller...
and N64 was the first controller with Rumble feedback and Analogue Sticks
If this new wii controller works with all Wii games and or classic games and has rumble, i'm definitly getting it.

The N64 controller only had 1 analogue stick and it was in the middle.

If your pre-evolution mind cant figure out that he is talking about the layout of analogue sticks then I pity you. I see your slave owner was right about you.

The SNES controller had dual analogue sticks and 4 shoulder buttons did it?

No, but it has 4 direction buttons, 4, round buttons arranged in a diamond, and a start and select button in the middle.

Just admit it, the Play Station Controller isn't the most original thing ever either.

          I never said it was.

My point was that it was different enough from the SNES controller to no be considered a rip off.

And my point is it's similar enough to be considered a rip-off.

          Everyone wins. End of discution.

I wonder if it takes up as much batteries as the Wii remote. If it saves more energy, I might buy one. =D

      It's wired.

Yup. It plugs into the Wii Remote and takes up less batteries than using the Wii Remote on it's own. Probably because the Wii Remote it's being shook around.
