SlapStic.com posts a short story about how Microsoft has made the Halo 3 Mythic Map pack available on the Xbox Live marketplace for no less than $150,000.

This was brought to my attention by BrandonCarlson on Twitter. Turns out that Microsoft might be overcharging JUST a tad for the new Halo 3 Mythic map pack. I'm sure that it's just a mistake, but it's a pretty funny one. Check it out!

Even though this is most likely a mistake on Microsoft's part, we all know that there is going to be at least one obsessed Halo fanboy who is going to go out and buy $150,000 worth of Microsoft Points to download it.

We all know Microsoft was a bit money crazy but no one saw this coming...

But on a serious note... That's an awesome typo. HAHAHA

If they've managed to get at least 1 buyer, it'll be REALLY big downfall in the credibility of Microsoft. Why hasn't it been removed!?

      TurMoiL911 Mar 1, 09
Sometimes if it's something that Microsoft doesn't even want people to download, they'll keep it up there with the jacked-up price.

There are the codes for the golden weapons in Gears of War 2 on there for the same price.

And I thought M$ was money-greedy before! Charging that amount of money for a digital item? That much for a string of in-game code?

it wouldnt be a downfall on MS. it would be a downfall on whatever idiot paid that much for it.

      Indeed.

Not much different from every other article as of late.

What does it have to do with Sony?
        • 1
          HisServant77 Mar 2, 09
It's not anti-Sony, therefore in order for people to inject their anti-sony feelings into the article, they say Sony is the cause of whatever bad is being discussed in the article. Thus, the article is now anti-sony and people are happy

By Sony faggotry I'm pretty sure he is referring to the fanboyish bashing of Microsoft.

Which as I said before; its pretty much everywhere now, anyway.

Yet what about when all the comments were anti-sony? Did anyone resort to calling out any MS fanboys? (Except for 1 or 2)

Guess what else; there are many anti-Sony and even more anti-Nintendo people roaming about. The only difference is they aren't attacking your favoured company so you fail to notice them. Don't act like the whole of GG is out to get Microsoft.

#1: I don't have a favored company, I own all three consoles and buy games for all three consoles.

#2: I don't fail to notice, I comment anytime a majority of GG start to gang up on a company. I did back when they did it to Sony, and I'm doing it now as its shifted to Microsoft.

Well I assumed you favoured Microsoft and you're overlooking all other bias (which I still believe you are (overlooking, that is, not favouring)) because you're acting like everyone is anti-Microsoft and pretty much all remnants of anti-Sony/Nintendo has disappeared, which just isn't the case. It's fair enough to defend Microsoft because it is true, there is an increase of negative comments against them, a lot of which aren't warranted, but I think to say that it's everywhere now is taking it a little too far, hence the overlooking part.

That comment was meant for Hun as well.

I probably should have worded that better...but yeah, there is obviously more anti-Microsoft than there is anti-Sony lately. Just irks me.

It's fair enough, I find it irksome too (just not personally irksome enough to bother doing anything about it ). I suppose I just took what you said a little too literally.

Hun, I'll meet you half way. Mr. Hun.

          Your attempt was unsuccessful.

Tiger of Wu Mar 3, 09
Nope. I was attempting to annoy you in the way you like to annoy people, a kind of ironic twist. Don't get me wrong though; that attempt appears to be unsuccessful anyway. I suppose I'm just not as annoying as you yet.

It's not that, I could if I wanted too, I just don't enjoy it as much so I'm more likely to give up and do something, you know, constructive.

What's with this Mythic Maps? I stopped being interested in Halo after Halo 3 storyline finished, so I hadn't been keeping up with it...

    But is this serious?

Anyone who buys this deserves to have their money taken from them.

    streetcarp81 Mar 2, 09
just in case anyone was wondering the actual price of the maps if they were selling for 99999msp, its not close to $150,000. its more like $1250usd. every microsoft point is equal to .0125 of a dollar. so 99999microsoft points multiplied by .0125 and u get $1,250. either way, who ever pays that much for the maps are **** heads.

hell on ebay u can buy the 3 mythic maps from the halo wars LCE for around $40usd. Im picking up my halo wars LCE tomorrow and i have a good mind to list them on ebay. why anyone would pay more than $10usd for the maps is just beyond me. i guess people just cant wait.

If your just gonna boycott stuff, don't bother posting a comment.

If anyone had noticed it's blatantly obvious why it's so costly, it's because Microsoft want it to be exclusive to people who have bought the LE of Halo Wars for the time being.

They may make it a decent price when they reckon they've raked in enough cash from the LE of Halo Wars

Hell yeah, we've all seen articles about how it's overated. I'd love to see how many people playing Halo 3 XBL are under 18 too, because that's all I used to hear off them.

People who annoyed at my Halo 3 flaming: Sorry, I'll stop now.

Clever idea on Microsofts part to connect the Halo Wars and Halo 3 titles together physically.

People will buy Halo Wars for not only a dose of more Halo, but added content to their Halo 3.
