"Ahhh! Why would I wanna buy a PS3 just to get PS1 Games on my PSP? Damn you Sony!"

Halt that thought for awhile.
Now it is confirmed by SCEA's president Jack Tretton that the PSP version of The PS Store will be available by fall.
And what with all the 4.0 rumours? All we have to do is wait and see.

Sony has confirmed that it will launch an online PSP store that makes use of the handheld's wi-fi capabilities.

Details are still scarce, but speaking at yesterday's Gamers Day SCEA's president, Jack Tretton, said, "I think the advent of a long awaited and quite frankly long overdue ability to deliver a downloadable service for the PSP will help us out a great deal. Hopefully we'll have it out there by the fall."

Tretton is no doubt praying that the service will “help [them] out a great deal.”

You have to buy a PS3 in order to play PS1 games on your PSP? That's lame. Or wait, it will it's own version? Cool.

Can you download PS games from an online store and play them on your PS3 or only on PSP?

Well, if you have a PS3, you might as well download it via that. (Knowing the PSP's internet speeds.) This is good for unfortunate people like me who don't have PS3s.

The PS3 already has this service as far as I know, the revelation here is that the PSP will soon have its own version, so people without PS3s can access the PS games available there.
