The development history of Star Wars: Battlefront 3 is sure to become famous. First in the hands of Free Radical, before being passed to Rebellion after they went bankrupt, and now changed hands again. The new developer? Pandemic the developer of the two earlier titles, as well as other such games as Mercenaries 1&2 and Lord of the Rings: Conquest.

The troubled development of Star Wars: Battlefront 3 has taken another interesting twist. After jumping from the sinking ship Free Radical to Rebellion, who are currently hard at work on Aliens vs. Predator 3, it has now been handed back into the hands of the developer of the first two installments – Pandemic.

    Thank God.

I was scared it was going to be screwed up if Pandemic didn't do it. This is good news as far as I'm concerned.

I wouldn't say that, because Pandemic screwed up the second game, big time. They better get this one right, and get rid of some of those ridiculously non-Star Warsy features, like invisible flame throwers, and stealth field generators.

Second one surpassed the first one by a lot. Sure, there were some features that weren't great. Sure, it wasn't perfect.

But I'll be damned if it wasn't an amazing game that gave me years of entertainment.

It's changed so many hands I'd be afraid to play it. LOL

At least it went into the right hands. I hope they bring back prone, they got rid of it in No.2 and BESPIN!! WTF WERE THEY THINKING! THAT WAS THE BEST MAP!.

Although overall I preferred BF2, the campaign was better, space flights were fun(for about the first 10 times) and the medals system was nice too.

Lets hope they can do it right with this one, because if it is it will be HUGE like the last ones were.

Hmm, i didn't know pandemic created the first 2. Anways, as long as they add a lot of the cool features that free radical was going to add.

If they can bring back the seamless space-to-ground transitions seen in the gameplay trailer for Free Rad, I have no problems with this.
