PS3 Firmware 2.70 Coming This Month

PlayStation LifeStyle gives details about the upcoming PS3 firmware update 2.70

On the Psyonix forums, the development staff talks about Firmware 2.70 and it's release time frame.

This prompted many users to ask the obvious next question of when? Psyonix-Jared responded:

IIRC it will drop later this month. And contain lots of fun new fixes. I’m excited about this one, lots of new stuff. :)

Though, I dont think I can mention any of them just yet.

    heh, idk, they always seem to make the updates sound better than they actually are, I mean take the last one as an example...there's probably a reason the didn't say whats coming :-p

      Wouldn't you? If you were part of a team that developed something that would be given to the world, i know i'd be pretty damn excited and that would come accross in an interview. I don't think anyone in the games industry that is making something is ever going to be depressive about the whole release.

    I already see how this is coming...

    1. Rumors begin to spread
    2. Sony doesn't comment on the rumors
    3. More rumors of update coming soon.
    4. Update comes out with different or features that weren't mentioned in the rumor
    5. People get pissed off at sony.
    6. people begin to complain about how the ps3 sucks.

      Aint it great sometimes to know what to expect, take a spectator's stance, sit back and watch it come to pass while shaking your head at how predictable things can be?

      (At least I hope I'm not the only one who does that!!)

    I didn't read the article yet, but am about to. One thing I'm kinda chuckling about inside already is how the quote says "And contain lots of fun new fixes."

    Haha, it reminds me of when I made computer programs, and had so much fun doing so, that even fixing bugs and all that was fun! I can just picture the guy with a huge smile on his face, saying how awesome it was to fix some stuff!

    Reading the article, I can now properly comment
    Unless I see Proof from Sony that they have features in this next update, and will release it within a month, I'm going to believe that 2.7 that releases this month will be to help the stability of some PS3 formatted titles. And that is all.
