Insomniac has updated their twitter account teasing fans of the company announcing some company news tomorrow. This could mean many things, a new R&C game, DLC for R2 or something different in general. But we still can hope for a R&C announcement.

Insomniac Games, the developer behind the popular Ratchet and Clank and Resistance franchises, is teasing some big news for tomorrow, according to their official Twitter account. "Preparing to reveal some news tomorrow about Insomniac...shhh!", their latest update reads. Could it be the highly anticipated announcement of the next Ratchet and Clank game? Perhaps a downloadable episode of Resistance, similar to what they did with Quest for Booty? Or maybe even just some company related news?

I'm hoping for something R&C related.

Tools of Destruction is my favourite PS3 game by far and hopefully if it is R&C it'll be a new game rather than DLC. Quest for Booty was poor compared to the main game.

Almost definitely details on the next Ratchet and Clank.

And Quest for Booty was pretty good for a PSN game I thought.

    R&C, I'm guessing.

I really enjoyed Tools Of Destruction, but it was a little short on the replayability factor. I completed it once and haven't went back to do so again. Nonetheless, I still think it's the finest next-gen platformer out there.

It's ironic that you refer to Galaxy as 'next-gen'.

The Wii is in the 7th generation of video games consoles, the same as the PS3. Just because it's not as technologically advanced as the PS3 doesn't mean it's not in the same generation.

Sorry, I'm rambling on. Why is it ironic?

I was speaking technologically, being a techno-geek. Pretty much everyone I usually speak to about this kind of stuff refers to the gens by technology, so I kind of get it mixed up when speaking to general people, so fair enough.

Still doesn't change the facts; Furry alien and robot companion with an arsenal of huge guns saving the universe from long-lost foe > Washed up fat plumber jumping on the same overgrown retarded turtle and jonesing for stars like they're cocaine.

I really hope its the new R&C. Actually, I'm guessing there's a 90% chance it is because isn't the new one supposed to be out "Fall 2009"? Now would be a great time to announce/show it.

A new Ratchet and Clank would be great. Those games are always quite humorous.

    Go directly to Microsoft.
    Do not pass Go.
    Do not collect $200.

Rofl i would actually piss myself if that was true.

The new announcement is that the next R&C will be Multi-plat because Microsoft handed them a hefty sum of money =d

It's extremely doubtful though because aren't they owned by Sony anyway?

        iLLmatic Mar 10, 09
I believe Sony owns both the Resistance and R&C IPs, but Insomniac is not owned by Sony. They just have worked with them exclusively.

Is that not Naughty Dog? I think they're officially 'free agents', but have always worked with Sony as they get prefer the hardware. Basically Sony's version of Valve.

Insomniac is the same way. They're free agents and plan to stay that way since they boast that they are one of the few who have remained independant (at least I think that's how they put it....I think). They are indeed loyal to Sony though, and honestly I hope they remain loyal to Sony. I grow tired of hearing different game companies changing to multiplatform and other companies and all that. Their games are never the same

      I think you mean:

      Go directly to Microsoft
Go into your company bank account
      Collect $100 million

I want a new R&C already... They can't tease us with Dr. N forever. I just hope he is as funny as he was before. And I hope they start turning Ratchet into the bad ass he was before ToD. And as an extra bonus I hope the weapons become harder to buy and funner to use; The weapons in ToD we're not as good as other R&C games and far too boring/kidfriendly. I realize that this is a fantasy game I'm talking about. But I really miss the gratuitous amounts of carnage possible in older R&C's. I guess I kind of want them to stop changing the game too much... But that's me.

You guys are getting your Insomniac and ND mixed up.

ND is a first party company of sony, and insomniac (i could be wrong) aren't fully owned by sony, they are not a first part company, thats for sure.

    HisServant77 Mar 10, 09
I'm thinking, after finding and following their twitter account, that the news is regarding the company itself. It could be . . . . "HEY EVERYONE! We have a twitter account!"

Haha, they did say it wasn't earth shattering, but still cool, for them.

Yeah no R&C announcement, maybe an update to R2 though, or some upgrade to MyResistance.

      Shattered Mar 10, 09
my res was just switched over to the R2 version, so I doubt it will be that, R&C could be announced, or maybe they may be doing a collaberation project with ND? Who knows what they're up to...

        Bale Fire Mar 10, 09
Yeah I know about the switch, but a lot of people aren't happy with the changes, so maybe their adding or doing something too it.

Haha everyone got so excited... Why would they announce a game they will save that for E3 as like Epic Games to Microsoft, Insomniac will always have a place on the Sony main stage. From where i was standing it was never going to be a game announcement so i steered clear lol, Congratulations Insomniac.
