You may have gotten to play a small section of the original Bioshock, but according to Game Informer in Bioshock 2 you'll spend the entire game as one! You get your own Little Sister to protect and help harvest, there is a mulitplayer mode confirmed and apparently you can get jumped by the Big Sister at any time in the game, it occurring when you kill too many too Big Daddies.
Its 10 years since the first game. The Big Sister returns to rapture, bringing back the Little Sisters with her. You play as the original Big Daddy. You can use the drill, the rivet gun, and you can still use plasmids.
Little Sisters have been given a new look to be less creepy, as youre seeing them from the eyes of their protectors. You dont get your own Little Sister from the start, as youre a renegade Big Daddy. So you fight other Big Daddies to get your own sister. You can still harvest them, but the other option has been changed to adopt instead of rescue. If you adopt the sister, shell ride on your shoulders, and you can go around Rapture looking for corpses for her to collect ADAM from. When your sister goes to harvest ADAM, a wave of Splicers will come and start attacking to try and harvest her. You have to hold them off until she finishes harvesting. You gain some ADAM from this, but not enough to tide you through the game. You can permanently rescue them, but the article doesnt say how.
The Big Sister is one of the surviving little sisters from the last game. Shes the new ruler of Rapture, and is the main antagonist of the game. With each Big Daddy you kill, the game lets you know how close you are to incurring the wrath of the Big Sister. When you do, the little sister youre with will sing a song about how the Big Sister doesnt want you playing with her, then you get jumped.

I really hope that you have a sense of power in this game, like you're better than splicers and whatnot. I'm not saying it should be easy, but splicers should only be able to bring you down with numbers.
Bioshock is just gaming perfection.
also glad the little sisters have changed, i hated how they looked man it creeped me out
I doubt I'll get the game, but for the fan's sake, I hope indeed that the controls are good, and it's a good move for the devs to make. Otherwise Bioshock will go out with no bang, but a bad taste in the mouths of many.
really, who actually liked standing stationary fending off annoying ass spider splicers while little goldilocks trots behind you with the speed of a thousand snails, taking her dear sweet time extracting adam?
No-one is saying it's the whole and main thing (Well, BANDITO kind of is), but it's going to be fairly frequent, frequent enough to be annoyed about anyway.
That would suck like every time having to just keep killing wave after wave of splicer.
It makes the game unbalanced. How good players have to fight off a wave of splicers every time while the evil characters will just have to harvest them.
It would make practically everyone just play evil. Plus no one likes just fighting waves of enemies.
Let's hope they realise how bad it is from a gameplay perspective and change it up before release (or let's hope it isn't as bad as it sounds).
Doesn't make it any less of a cliché though.
im thinking though, youll be able to upgrade your suit, and that will be a big catch, like upgrading weapons before, you upgrade your movement speed, dashing ability with the drill, and effectiveness of the rivet gun.
i hope the Little Sisters call you a funny name like Mr Bubbles.
We'll just have to wait and see I 'spose
Also, how awesome would it be to be the Big Daddy that killed Dr. Suchong in the original? For some reason that would be awesome to me. I'd love to hear more about origins of Fontaine Futuristics and all the other stuff too, so the story should be great.
Still. Honestly I would have preferred to be a soldier working for Fontaine, or even part of the security with Sullivan. Either way, I'm buying 2 for sure.
