Harmonix art director Ryan Lesser told GamesIndustry.biz that they are working hard to make sure that their upcoming game Rock Band (to be published by MTV Games) will be as affordable for consumers as they can get.

You may know of Harmonix from their sucessful music title Guitar Hero. GH only featured a single instrument; you guess it, the guitar. Rock Band, however will feature Bass, Guitar, Voacals (Microphone), and Drums. In another article (http://www.gamegrep.com/news/1726-starting_your_own_rock_band_could_set_you_back_300/) it was estimated from prices already posted on Gamestop that to make a "band" it would set you back around $300. Although Harmonix and MTV Games have not officially announced a price range, questions have been raised if gamers will even require all the peripherals to get the best experience out of Rock Band.

Rumors going around that the game will be between $150 - 200 USD are false and have been denied by Lesser. The rumor sprung up after someone claimed to have taken part in a focus group for the game. A full interview with Lesser done by GamesIndustry will be posted later next week on their website.

My poor wallet. =( Fortunately, the amount of fun my friends and I have with Harmonix's Guitar Hero games outweighs the fact that it's going to cost us a bundle to play the next generation version. ^^

Oh, thank god. The rumors were false. I really want this game, but I simply cannot afford to pay two hundred dollars for a game. I heard it might even be ninety dollars. Now that is a price I am willing to pay.
