First Mass Effect 2 Plot Details Revealed - Is Shepard Really Dead?

It seems that Amazon have revealed a few Mass Effect 2 details... Humans disappearing across the Galaxy? An all-out assault? Shepards fate?

According to rather revealing product listing on Amazon, the second chapter in the Mass Effect trilogy "takes you to the darkest reaches of space, where you must uncover the mystery behind the disappearance of humans across many worlds".

"Prepare yourself for a suicide mission to save mankind. Travel the galaxy to assemble a team of soldiers and combat specialists, and launch an all-out assault on the heart of enemy territory."

Sounds like you're hunting Geth - and probably ancient robot Reapers - then.

Skimming further down the Amazon bullet point list reveals a "refined dialogue system", "numerous improvements to the intense, third-person shooter combat" and more Jack Bauer moments: "Success - or failure - depends heavily on the crew you assemble and their loyalty to you and the mission", apparently.

Most spoiler-efic of all is confirmation that the second act "continues the story of Commander Shepard and humanity's first steps onto the galactic stage." Shepard's not dead then, as the teaser would have us believe.

    Looking nice man, there's been very little to look forward to on the x-box lately. Same old same old. Bloody streetfighter IV man, what a load of shit that was. Took the franchise and shat all over it.

    Wait, can Amazon be considered a trustworthy source of information?

    Cause I remember they put a release date on Fallout 3 last year that was like a month off...

      Release dates are different though.

      Every Internet seller puts up a few wrong/fake dates in order to get pre-orders etc etc etc.

      But what they've wrote doesn't sound too 'out there'.

    I highly doubt he's dead. It was a TEASER trailer.

    Not a game play or story trailer.

    And even so it says he's reported KIA, doesn't mean he's actually dead he could have been one of the people gone missing and it could be part of the story in no.2, like you have to escape.

    I really hope they make use of ME1 save games... It would be great if there were some easter eggs that show the "Results" of some of your choices... like letting that whatchamacallit queen live...

        That's barely a spoiler. You don't even hear about the thing until you pretty much meet it, and get to decide.

        It's far from an end game spoiler.
