Performance Designed Products (”PDP”) revealed its Gametrak Freedom motion sensing controller at the GDC in San Francisco yesterday. This is an interesting announcement, but what is not clear is whether this is the controller that Rare have been rumoured to be working with. The Freedom is said to be better than the Wiimote and does not rely on infra red. How much software support it will get is also unclear. It would make sense that there will be a lot of Wii games that should be easy to port to the 360, but will the Freedom be supported by MS?

Press release included.

Ugh, it looks like the remote/controller you get on airplanes. Or a really bland sex toy...

Third party wii mote for the xbox 360? A little random, much? Unless Microsoft plans on making special games for it, whats the point?

I told you all the Wii was the beginning of the end. Kratos was talking about motion controls, not the Gods.

This is ridiculous. XBox is just taking the idea of the Wii controller
