For those encountering the "Yellow Light of Death", some forum-goers at Maxconsole have come up with a fix. Check the pdf file at the source -- though you must be a registered member (groan) to do so.

    The yellow light of death is a hard drive failure. All you have to do is

    a. reformate if your lucky
    b. buy a new hard drive.
