This is something quite interesting. You would think that Sony would have hired a group of people to design the perfect interface that they would use for many of their products. Turns out, not it was actually all done by one person. Clever little guy, isn't he?

It’s true, apparently. The entire PSP and PS3 XMB interface, otherwise known as the Xross Media Bar, was made a reality by a single person — Japanese-based UI artist Yasuhiro Yamanaka, according to the man’s LinkedIn profile. In it, he claims he “designed PSP and PS3 User Interface all by myself.” Yamanaka is also in charge of all on-screen localization, meaning all those dialogue pop-ups and menu item descriptors were written by him.

That interface isn't hard to make. Even I can design something like that myself. That's one of the things that's so great about XMB though. It's so simple and doesn't use much resources yet it's a convenient way to scroll through data.

Can you make one for the 360 then?
No matter how many times NXE is updated and reinvented, I still love XMB more than any inferface on an electronic device!

That's not really shocking. I was sorting data like that LONG before I saw it with Sony. That's why when I saw it with Sony I didn't think it was actually something that was patented by them. Figured it was just the natural way to do it for everyone!

I use alt+f4 all the time . . . though for it's purpose. Not to trick people because I mean . . . that's like saying "Hey, push the power button on your computer! It'll do a cool trick!"

The universe wasn't MADE by Chuck Norris.
