A 21-year-old man has been arrested for assault after breaking a 50-year-old woman's jaw because she asked him to stop playing games on his cell phone on a crowded public train.

A 21-year-old man was arrested for assault on Wednesday, accused of punching a 50-year-old woman several times in her face, breaking her jaw, while on a Saikyo line train and in a train station office Wednesday morning, police said Thursday.

He was probably close to setting a new high-score or close to finishing a really difficult level, and then this woman breaks his flow and makes him lose. I'd probably get a bit irritated as well.

    what a dick.

really, tho, i can't understand the motives of either one of them. "the woman asked him to stop playing games on his cell phone as the train was so crowded".. wat? how is some guy playing with his phone on a crowded train bothering you?

also, i'm guessing there's more to this story than just 'well i asked him to stop playign it and he punched me wtf'. there always is. she did something to antagonize him. yet he's still a dick for punching an old lady. @__@

Yeah, we're just hearing one side of the story. The 'boo-hoo' he hit me one...but overall, he was wrong to punch her like that.

What a psycho, I dread to think what could have happened if he wasn't restrained.

of course the guy shouldnt have hit an old lady, but what the hell business is it of hers to tell someone what they can and cant do while riding on a train? he should have just ignored her.

Picture this. You're on a crowded train and a guy next to you jabs his elbow into your ribs or neck and keeps doing it as he's playing games on his cell phone. Obviously the guy can't seem to play by being still. You ask the guy to please stop. He tells you to shut up.
You tell him he's being a jerk and needs to stop jabbing you with his elbows. Since he can't seem to play being still and it's crowded and you can't get away, you tell him to stop playing the game altogether. The guy is a jerk and irritable (being on a crowded train can make people irritable), he feels you are a problem and goes all out on you.
He shoves you and says some words, "You think you can tell me what to do?" With a few expletives and in not so short a phrase. You call the guy a few words also. You end up with a broken jaw.

...Yeeah. I can definitely see this happening JUST over a game. People can be irritable jerks whether they play games or not.

does it say he was sitting next to the old lady and jabbing her when he was playing? maybe she thought the sounds were too loud in which case she shoulda told him to turn it down.

I didn't say that's what happened. I said I can see HOW it can happen over a video game. It was directed toward any thoughts like, "No, no way that can happen over just a video game. Something else had to be the cause of it."

You don't know if the guy was playing silently or not, for those thinking that she was wrong to ask that. So, if she asked first, it was probably for a good reason, not because she was stiking her nose on other's business... I think. But punching someone SEVERAL times for that? This guy should quit playing for a time and take anger management lessons. I've never punched someone when I was bothered during my play.

Well they said he punched her later when it was just him, her, and some train crew.

You don't do that over a minor quarrel. Something else was going down, maybe he was pushed in his job and at home and he snapped, or she provoked it more than the story let on.

I'd say he may be unstable, but I kinda doubt an unstable person would go through school and be hired as a programmer.

HAHA, yup. A lot of unstable people are pretty smart. In fact, many highly intelligent people can easily become unstable mentally. The problem is that they also learn how to hide it from others, therefore keeping their jobs and keeping people from putting them away!

'Bitch *bleep*ed up my Pacman jive, what else was I supposed to do '

TBH, I'm just astounded that the police were so incompetent that they let the guy hit her again whilst in custody.
