Making profiles and able to comment and talk to one another about them is definitely a feature Sony is looking at according to SCEA's John Koller, and sooner than we think. Promising a Facebook like experience at a panel at the MI6 Games Marketing Summit this suggests one of two things. Either Sony are developing their own software, or are planning to integrate the PS3 in with a existing service. Either way offers interesting possibilities.

When asked by panel moderator John Davison if there would ever be a point when someone could be playing PS3 and have it "spit out something to Facebook," Koller stated that plans are already afoot. He said that such functionality is "critical not just for marketing but for the types of games we're trying to develop. That day is coming quicker than some may think."

Meh, I used to have a Xanga....haven't updated it in over a year, I think?

If it comes to be, I might make a basic page or something, and reply to comments, but I doubt I'd do too much on it.

I'm not into social networks in the least bit, but this could be a decent feature for the PS3.

Meh, I expect a couple trains of hype along with a few barges. As for time, I've no clue but it'd be awesome if it were released within a few months.

If you don't feed the trolls, they'll starve and pretty soon will be either dead or so weak they can't do anything to bother anyone. If you must feed them, feed them poison in the form of a report

Finally! This will make talking to people on PS3 so much easier than PSN while during a match.

Hm, I can't say I'm a big fan of Facebook, though I do have an account. Networking is the new trend now, and with the direction Sony appears to be going with Home, this doesn't come as a big surprise.
