Forget Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest for a moment. Square Enix are working on an as of yet unannounced action game to be formally unveiled in the next issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine.

LOL i know, Square's like "guys we need another protagonist to have a huge ass sword!! well make it this close looking to Cloud's sword but slightly different so as not to be called out by fans! unrealistically large swords FTW!!"

Nah, it's more like "Guys, the fans our whiny little bitches who can't handle change! Give them a big ass sword like Cloud's, maybe then they won't boycott us for not making another RPG "

Agreed, I really think they should try moving some of these extra teams to work with others on their already announced projects.

FFXIII is going to take another half a year alone due to the extra port they're working on. The Versus team is underhanded because they're busy helping to complete FFXIII rather than work on their own project. Now they're working on another game. I bet it won't even come out on the PS3; probably the PS5...

Squenix has some really messed up business strategies lately...

Some of the games have longer development times in part because of Dragon Quest IX.

Square Enix confirmed months ago now that the Versus team AREN'T working on FFXIII...

And you know, Square Enix do have OTHER teams besides their main FF and DQ teams too...

I'm pretty sure some of animators from the Versus team are working on FFXIII Cruix, and even more personal tied up with Advent Children Complete.

I'm referring more to the fact that they can afford to push back release dates because Dragon Quest IX got delayed.

Sorry - That comment wasn't directed at you Akira. =].

And some of the Versus team do work on FFXIII, but only in their spare time, so it's not as though they're totally abandoning Versus until XIII is out, which is what a lot of people still seem to think.

Well, if it's unveiled in OPM, I'm hoping it's exclusive (though nothing is certain with Squenix).

Oh it'll start exclusive and then when we all think we're safe and all the rumors have been denied they'll jump ship in emphatic style at E3.

Was thinking the exact same thing. I suppose the only way for it to be exclusive and stay exclusive is if Nomura works on it, and we all know he's knee-deep in Versus.

Maybe if they would quit working on and teasing new games while they're working on 3+ big ones they would actully get a game out on time.
