Call of Duty Black Ops Voted ‘Best Game Ending’ Of All Time
16 hours 57 mins ago
So we heard about this Shadow of Colossus movie coming up, and for the most part, gamers were hoping it was a joke or just a project that never takes off (Halo movie, anyone?). Well, based on this talk with Justin Marks, the SotC movie is in production... and WILL happen.
Marks, writer of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li, talks about the "Colossus" project and the stigma most game-to-movie adaptions have. He seems to have a good feeling about this one and encourages gamers to keep their chin up.
"With a lot of games there are so many elements in the universe you spend your time tearing down and tearing down," he said. "What's nice about this game is that it's so sparse so you can start building right away." He added that he understood fan's concerns that a studio might be tempted to add Hollywood flourishes like a cheesy sidekick but that he would strenuously avoid those cliches.
Marks also said he felt this would make a perfect adaptation because it already contained not just visual elements but many of the things that work on a movie screen. "This is a game that catches you unaware -- it catches you on an emotional and experiential level, not just for the puzzles you solve."

The first being the film version being announced.I just really hope this is done well. Because if it is, then the fan can enjoy and the game can finally get the mass recognition that it deserves.
I actually heard the screenplay for street fighter was actually good, but when it was transfered from screenplay to movie it kind of...fell apart.
Still I hope this works out, the bit about avoiding Hollywood cliches gives me some hope.
The ending will probably be good, but I'm still skeptical.
He's forgetting the stigma between him and shit films. If he doesn't want people pissed off when they hear his name along with this adaptation, he shouldn't have his name tied to shit films. If you think you can pull it off just shut the frick up and prove yourself.
End. Of. Story.
So this game is very story-driven? I may have to check it out!
