Sounds amazing, can't wait. October/november's gonna be a spend fest again =[. I have to say though, Having to go see a Street Doctor sounds kinda shit. Also, Spear Axe? Isn't that a Halberd?

Depends. If they meant halberd, then no, but they may have meant pole axe.

They mentioned certain enemies wielding halberds, so they probably meant that.

Night and day intervals = pwnage.

So this game still has random bails of hay? Oh joy, surely a game such as this should employ a true stealth mechanic and not just "HAY! They'll never find me in here!", I'd much prefer a mechanic that involves evading the pursuers using skill and brain power, than cheap mechanics such as diving in hay that is strategically placed all over the map.

You wouldn't expect an assassin to be hiding in a big pile of hay and you know it.

Sounds terrific. I hope they add some incentive to find all the collectibles in the game. In AC1, I found all of them hoping for some reward, and was majorly pissed off when I didn't get anything.

I hope they still have counter attacks, just different cut scences.

I loved doing the counter attacks

Sounds great. 16 mission types, no eavesdropping and pick-pocketing. You can swim. You get things for the collectibles. etc.

It's good they're learning from past mistakes. Also, two assassin blades? Niiiiiiice.

Well, that certainly catches my attention. I loved the first, but I was expecting the second to be a let down.

Sounds like I was wrong so far.

I like the new assassin character design much better than Altair.

If this turns out better than AC1, I'll definitely trade it in for the sequel.

This part should be in bold "Da Vincis workshop is in the game" .. such a cool thing to be in a video game.

    EVERYONE.

Watch the video from about 40 seconds in to see the first images of the game.

Needless to say - looks good!

      Lol:

      "PS3 Sucks!"
"Shut up fanboy! See, Sony, I defend you!"

Anyway, screenshots looked killer. This sequel might actually be better than the first (though that's not really a challenge).

Video was laggy but the game looks awesome. I really am enjoying his new outfit alot.

He said there will only be one gliding portion in the game

        Red 9 Apr 11, 09
Well, if Assassin's Creed 2 is anything like the original, you should be able to revisit any point in the game, meaning that you could replay the gliding section as many times as you want.

          chautemoc Apr 12, 09
Maybe there'll be an online multiplayer gliding mode.

Probably gliding from Assassin HQ into the countryside bit (w/e the equivalent is) to get to cities faster, so you'll probably do it a few times.

I've never played the first AC, but this definitely has perked up my interest.

Is it worthwhile picking up a copy for say 10 quid?

      Red 9 Apr 11, 09
The first one? Nope. You're not gonna miss much in playing the sequel without the first one.

Yeah just rent it. In three days you'll be sick of it

Assassin's Creed 2 looks to be on the right path by my diagnosis.

I think it's a love hate thing. I personally loved the first AC, despite how repetitive it could be.

Definitely worth a rent at any rate.

        Red 9 Apr 12, 09
Yeah, I return to it every now and then just to wander around, because let's face it; they nailed the atmosphere in that game.

      Metallica Apr 12, 09
Yeah pick it up for that price or just trade it.

      Seproth Apr 13, 09
I'd say it's worth it too.

It gets repetitive as everyone likes to say, but it shouldn't bother you on the first playthrough.

It's fun just to climb around and fight though too, so you may come back to it in a few months and play about half or so, before getting bored.
