MAG is set to be the next biggest online game to hit the PS3 after Warhawk. And with all the features listed below, it has already blown Warhawk out the window. Included features are XP system, the varied customization, and how the audio system works.

-2 to 256 Players
-'hopes' for 30FPS when all the action is going down at all times
-Dedicated servers with new network architectures to help reduce lag
-Streamline matches to reduce need to wait.
-All audio cues (planes flying by, air raid sirens) are actual players causing it or player triggered actions. This can happen in other regions and you can hear in distance.
-PunkBuster quality cheating detection. System tests for things like rate of fire/movement/damage to keep things in check
-First Person view (better sense of scale and immersion into game)
-20 years in future, 3 major PMCs bid for war. The power struggle of these 3 dubbed Shadow War
3 Factions, only 2 announced now: Raven(high tech weapons, most trained soldiers on planet. Will appeal to Halo/Resistances fans). Sver(fierce fighters from middle east/central Asia area. Battle harden warriors)
-256 Domination mode. Attackers and defenders. Out layer of defense and inner layer. Once gone through the out layer 'hell breaks loose'. Anti-aircraft and radar are vulnerable. If your faction wins alot it gets the contract for that game mode and gets XP bonuses and perks.
-3 other game modes: Acquisition(128 player escort-style mode. Steal 2 prototype armored transports and bring to extraction zone). Sabotage(64player, control 2 points for X time then a demolition objective is revealed which must be destroyed). Suppression(64 player team deathmatch)
-Customize face, voice, armor.
-No soldier class system, but has a free-form kit creation. Can save 3 different load-outs. Depending on your choice of weapons, it can be told by looking at you so others can tell. Change your load-out to match how the battle is going.

Like I said in the warhawk forum, the people who found warhawk boring, were the people who sucked at it.

          I emensly enjoyed it.

I was good at the game but I still found it boring.

You don't have to suck at a game to hate it, I enjoyed it for the first month when it came out but then it just got old and stale.

Okay . . . I wasn't really interested in it since I'm not into shooters and all that. But after all that, the scale of it alone has me interested now!

So it's kind of a CoD/Battlefield mix? All that sounds *bleep*ing awesome. I can't describe how much I want this game.

If this game has stupid weapons like lasers and electricity guns, there is no way i will buy this game.

By high tech they probably mean the same type of weapons as Battlefield 2142, not laser guns and Tesla weapons.

I'm sorry, I'm still sold at up to 256 players!

I'm the opposite, that's what makes me wary of the game.

Anti-aircraft implies, of course, aircraft. So I'm hoping there are more aircraft options outside of transport craft. I'd like some fighter craft.

Either way, I'm trading in Warhawk for this, no doubt.

I was hoping for a third-person shooter...I'm sick of FPS games, the market is saturated with them.

I'll probably rent this, but dunno if I'll buy it.

I'm both interested and uninterested in this game. I mean, a lot of the stuff in the game sounds awesome, but at the same time I'm kind of bored with FPS games right now. There's just too many. Well, if they can manage to run 256 players without serious lag, then I might be more than a little interested.

Same here, I also agree with Take4ever

Well, lets hope by the time this game comes out, im in the need of another FPS. Lets see this fall: R&C, Uncharted, Heavy Rain and if Gow3 comes out.

So buy then I should be ready for another FPS

Here's to hoping the same for me. I'm not into shooters. But I want to enjoy this one Hopefully I'll be interested by the time it comes out

I just hope that they can truly fulfill all of those plans. I would love for them to hold out on the release to make sure this game free of any major problems, I don't want another game being released with SOCOM like servers. I am excited for this game, it makes me happy I have a PS3.

I didn't mean that, I meant that I found it so UNBORING that I played it for over 700 hours See I found it so fun that it took a LONG time to get bored of it.

I'm on the edge on whether I get MAG or not. I usually play small team matches as bigger games tend to turn into chaos, so I don't really like the idea of 256 players in the same game. But if they pull this right, it could well be quite enjoyable.

Yup, I know the feeling. The smaller-group games tend to be more fun due to organization and how easy it is to communicate and work together. But the larger . . . well it's like going into a room and trying to work with so many strangers. With the small group of strangers it wouldn't take long to become friends, but with the large group . . . about 90% will want to do their own thing.

It's going to be squad based though. You'll be in squads of 8 though, I don't think you communicate with anyone else. Four squads create a platoon and four platoons make a company. All I've read about it have made it sound like the mass numbers won't make things cramped or chaotic. I guess we'll see when it releases.

I can imagine that only leaders communicate with other squads/platoons/companies, whereas everyone else just communicates between their own group.

    Slumpy monkey Apr 14, 09
They have that feature in battlefield 2 and most of the time it doesn't work, yes people do join squads but rarely do they work together. They mainly get split up as they spawn in different places, even though you can spawn on the squad leader(not when he is dead or under fire though), that can be fixed though by making the players spawn near squad members, but even with that players still go off on their own.

Although when you do get a good squad the game gets MUCH better, its so awesome when you have a squad of spec op members and you fly into an enemy base all sneaky like, then you parachute into their base and sneak around planting C4 on their structures then blowing the place up and flying out again back to the front lines. those are the kind of things that makes these types of games awesome.
