DS owners, meanwhile, are treated to two more Atlus-published RPGs: Dokapon Journey and The Dark Spire.

The point is, playing a game is just for the fun of it, and in many cases, the instant gratification.
I'm sick of all these idiots telling Guitar Hero players to go play a real guitar instead.
Their both entirely different things ones a game and ones a instrument, *bleep* and gtfo.
The difference there being, that guitars exist. Ghosts don't exist; if you believe they do, then indeed go find them or whatever it is you do in Fatal Frame; IF you believe that what you do in Fatal Frame is something very great, something of importance, then LOOK for that in real life. Otherwise, it's not so important. Just a game. But question, what makes the game enjoyable, why do you wanna play it? What do the Ghosts represent metaphorically and symbolically?; something to seek out, or something to defeat, and so-on; the question here being, what are those ghosts, what do they mean, what do you achieve by doing whatever it is you do? Ask those questions, and then it actually becomes irrelevant as to whether or not something "exists" literally as in a "literal Ghost" or "literal master chief" or literal tangible real zombies, or anything else you find in a game; because something that people fail to understand too much, is that, things are some-thing. What I mean by that is, everything you do, has a reaction, everything you do has a reason, ior else you wouldn't be doing it. People are born equal, but born equal with a blank slate. The actions, the choices the decisions the reasons, are NOT equal. That is the difference between right and wrong, and to a lesser separate extent, that is the difference between game and life. They're not by any means equal.
And juxtapose that with guitar hero. This is a game of skill. You play it, you increase your skill, you become talented at this thing; BUT, within the confines of the game only. If none of that matters to you, then that's fine; but that means also, that if it doesnt matter to you, you wouldnt care if you lose it, you wouldnt care if you stopped playing, it's unimportant. But if those things that make it enjoyable; i.e. developing skill, beating the game, the instant gratification as you said, are something quite enjoyable to you, then I can tell you now, that they are absolutely no competition, for holding a real guitar, for developing real skill on an instrument that you can share with the world, and that instant gratification in actual fact becomes an ever-lasting satisfaction; something MORE. And it is something more.
But the problem you see is, people don't wanna question that, I dunno why not, you;d have to ask them. They don't wanna deal with that, they don't wanna make a commitment, so in actual fact, they sacrifice the greater achievement and greater enjoyment, for a "safe" lesser enjoyment. It's not safe of course; it's simply "low risk, low yield". high yield, means high risk.
My point being, if you enjoy guitar hero AS A GAME, then it's only a game that's all it is. BUT, if you enjoy Guitar Hero, as, the aforementioned, skill-developing, achieveing, guitar "game", then put down the pad, and go play Guitar. A real guitar is something much more real, has more heart more feeling; you dont mash the buttons and see the sounds appear; you tune into it, like a living thing, like an extension of yourself; same for any instrument. And, I believe, ,I believe, that THAT is why people enjoy guitar hero; I believe, that if you really question and look at why you play something like guitar hero, you're gonna come to the conclusion that there is greater happiness and achievement and indeed, being, in seeking out and mastering the real thing. If you disagree, then by all means tell me why, we'll discuss that. But, by making a game when there is a real thing, they have defined it, as a "game" as something lesser, as that "low yield, low risk". A game is a game. It simply cannot compete with it's high yield high risk counterpart, why you ask? Because it's High Yield. Why settle for low yield? high yield, high yield, high yield always, because you'll be dead soon enough; settle for low yield and what a waste that'll have been, when you could have had MORE. What you gonna have em write on your tombstone, master of guitar hero? Why, when, instead of that, you could have, Hero of Guitar Mastery.
Because that's something of worth, to be remembered for. Why be forgotten, when you can be remembered? A person dies, people dont' die man. People are the collective, person is the indivudal. You have a duty, to serve that collective, because if you dont, then there is no "people" there is no collective, and all the individual persons, die, and nothing's left. Why let that happen, when there could be something? Maybe you'll say, what's that got to do with Guitar Hero? That there, is the root of it all. I wouldnt ever say, DONT play it. But what I say is, why play a game, when you actually CAN do the real thing? Play games that give you somthing that you don't have or can't have. But the thing is, there is not much you can;t have. Don't play games that give you a safe version of what;s in front of you. That's just a waste man.
I'd also like to point out something else, people are not born equally, hence birth defects. I'd give an example, but its a bit.... personal. Regardless I'll say that it involves damaged nerves in my fingers.
As for the birth defect thing, that's another topic man. We are all born equal, because, we are all born with nothing. Physically, some are born bigger, some are born different, different colour different race, disabilities; but those are all physical aspects of the body. We are all born equal with a blank slate of the mind; we are all born into this world, with the ability, to do anything. I apologise if I overstep the mark here; but perhaps for someone with damaged nerves, playing a real guitar seems an impossibility, hence the safe alternative, of the virtual guitar hero; a dullen guitar. BUT, if it is that much more difficult for you to do; if it is that much more difficult for a disabled person to walk, or for a somehow incapacitated person to talk, then it is that much MORE of an acheivement, when they actually do it; it's that much MORE of a great feeling of a great joy when it's achieved. We're all born equal, BUT, equal does not mean the same. So what one person may lack in one area, they have more of in another area. If you lack some physical ability, then you have that much more to gain by defeating it; and therefore, you have that much more drive and spirit than someone, who does everything so easily.
That's a difficult subject, as you said, it's personal, which is how it will always be. But, my point here is, if you wanna look past that, then what I mean is, all life is living. All living life, wishes to continue to live, or else it would no longer be living. Therefore in that respect, and that respect only, all life is equal. Beyond that, it is up to any individual to then do something with their life; Choices, decisions, actions - that's where you can say, that things are not equal. Because, a life lived, is under your own control, everything you do is down to you. Too many people, wanna say "oh I was born this way or I was born that way" in order to shuffle the responsibility off of their shoulders, but the point is, you were born. That's all that matters. What you do from then on everyday is up to you; people will find, i dont mean you in particular I mean people in general, will find, that actually accepting that responsibility and waking up to the fact, that everything you do is up to you even if you pretend its not, will make them much much happier. Being a lion instead of a mouse man, who cares then, if you try and fail who cares if you keep trying and keep failing, that is better than admitting defeat and accepting a life under someone else's rule. Thats a waste man. we were all born, and we'll all be dead and buried one day, maybe today maybe tommorow maybe a year from now maybe 50 years from now, who knows. But the fact is, everyone of us will die one day. Therefore, again in that respect, in the respect of individual lives, everyone, is equal. So why allow someone else to live for you? They're not you. They'll be dead, you'll be dead. did you do anything while you were here? That's the question we all have to ask man. Did we make use of our time? God knows no-one else will.
...Too bad my computer won't be able to handle it either way, erm.
i have to run most games on mid/low - but even my computer can handle this one with everything on high @_@
