Kombo.com recently emailed Nintendo of America, asking several questions about Fatal Frame IV's status, including why they have decided not to bring the game to America.
Read below for Nintendo's response...

Unfortunately I don't have a comment for you at this point, but if one comes down the pipeline, I'll be sure to send it your way.

So, where does this leave us? From the sound of the statement and amount of time it took to get an answer, I would say Nintendo of America isn't quite sure what to make of the situation right now. Did they get caught in lie? Or did Tecmo point the blame finger at Nintendo of America a little too quickly? Let's hope we get more information about Fatal Frame IV at E3 or during some E3 interview sessions with Nintendo of America representatives.

I personally don't think its ever going to leave Japan. Even if they were on the edge they would have surely decided what to do by now. I think their stalling until the whole issue is so old nobody remembers it, thus not angering hardcore gamers and fans of the franchise.

Right then. Get it on the PS3 and Xbox360.
Platforms with the appreciation of a fine title and will actually have some sense in having it release worldwide.

Nintendo are blatently for the casual. Any interview in which they attempt to dictate otherwise is pure madness. Thanks for hogging it, then isolating it from us. Could have been playing it alongtime ago had it been on a compitent platform. Oh, and with better graphics. Stupid junk console, run by a *bleep* unit.

Can you imagine Fatal Frame with SIREN graphics? Personally, I think that pretty much set the standard with J-Horror that others of the same genre need to keep up.

Exactly. Fatal Frame with Siren graphics would be absolutely fantastic. It was you who got me onto SIREN anyway and It equals Silent Hill 2 for environment and atmosphere. Fatal Frame had 3 previous outings on the Xbox and PS2, all of which were fantastic titles.

I am not pissed that Nintendo obtained the rights of exclusitivity. Fair enough. They were attempting to branch out to their hardcore. But for them to selfishly hog in on their system and alienate the other half of the world by not releasing the title annoys the hell out of me!

Ah well, at least we have SIREN! Horror perfection.
