And I'm sure that 6 months down the road, you can buy him from the Xbox Live Marketplace, as he'll be already on the disc.

Uhhh.... I very much doubt it seeing how soo many games have exclusive 'characters' and the like, and I know of NO game on any console, that has lost an 'exclusive character' to another console...

I take it you never heard of Soul Calibur IV.

I take it he's never heard of Soul Calibur II. Even back in the sixth generation, Gamecube got Link, PS2 got some other exclusive character, and the Xbox version got a different exclusive.

Like i said, no game that I knew of... I wasn't a big a fan of SCIV so never kept up with the news. However one game is hardly much to go on, seeing how there are soo many other games that have actually had exclusive characters that have remained exclusive.

Tiger of Wu Apr 24, 09
Yeah but, in SC2 the exclusive characters stayed exclusive, so that's irrelevant xD

    We're finally winning guys!

      Krunal Apr 23, 09
Winning what? There's a competition? You do know that the XBOX360 will most likely also get some form of 'Free DLC Character' that'll be announced at a later time right? (If not, that's just good for the PS3 version of the game, and those that want to play as the Joker)...

        Subzer0 Apr 25, 09
There's always competition friend. I was being sarcastic btw. But yeah, the 360 will also likely get DLC as well.

Won't be long until it comes to the 360.

    It'll be timed.
  • 0
Tiger of Wu Apr 23, 09
I doubt he'll be a timed exclusive, I think he'll be a full exclusive. That said, I reckon it won't be too long before Harley Quinn or Bane is announced as an exclusive 360 character.

Take a look at Soul Calibur IV.

      Yoda = 360
      Vader = PS3

few months down the line they were available on both consoles.

Tiger of Wu Apr 23, 09
Not for free though. Plus we don't know how cheaply money-hungry these guys are compared to namcobandai. Alternate costumes in SFIV needed to be paid for; doesn't mean that's the case in other fighting games.

    Bale Fire* Apr 23, 09
Basically just a costume, so not that big of a deal. Still I wonder if he will do anything jokerish when we control him

Tiger of Wu Apr 23, 09
Well I highly doubt we'll just look like Joker but will still be throwing batarangs and the like.

        Existence Apr 24, 09
Considering that the Joker will only be available in the Challenge rooms, I think we may see some Joker-specific moves.

So this is a fighting game?
    • 0
Tiger of Wu Apr 24, 09
If that was aimed at my comment, no. The point I was making is that just because something is the case for one game doesn't mean it is for another, at all.

If you genuinely don't know though, it's a stealthy-action game.

        Slumpy monkey Apr 24, 09
I genuinely didn't know. All I know is that it is a batman game and has pretty good graphics.

Joker will be nice to play as, but i would rather play as Bane.

    Shinobi_razor Apr 24, 09
who wants to play as Joker anyway? hell probably suck.

just watch, the 360 version will get somebody badass like Croc or Bain!!

Tiger of Wu Apr 24, 09
I actually can't believe I just read that.
      • 2
        Shinobi_razor Apr 25, 09
shutup. Bain could demolish Joker in any way on any day of the week. Joker's overrated anyway.

Tiger of Wu Apr 25, 09
Poppy-cock. In a one on one fight obviously Bane would win, but in an all-out battle with more then just brute strength, like Joker has with Batman, Joker would annihilate Bane. As a matter of fact if Bane could defeat Joker like Batman, Joker would be fighting against him as well, but that ain't the case.

As for gameplay Joker's going to most likely have a metric *bleep*ton of gadgets and fun stuff to use. What will Bane do? In a situation like what happens in the challenge rooms he only has brute strength; yeah he's a very intelligent guy and knows about fighting strategies and the like but in one of the challenge rooms that means jack shit, which means his gameplay will be mind-numbingly monotonous.

And yes, Joker is overrated. That doesn't change the fact that as a character he is smarter then Bane, so much so that he would beat him. In fact, without Joker that drugged up SoaB would still be locked up in Arkham. Funny that, eh?

          RabidChinaGirl Apr 25, 09
Joker is pretty overrated, but he and Bane are both full of win because they're associated with the Batman franchise.

          Mr. Freeze, please!

fair enough Tiger. im just saying i could care less what PS3 fanboys get, i know they are excited about getting Joker, but hes not all he's cracked up to be and 360 players will no doubt get someone exclusive whos just as good if not better. and of course after a while they will be available on each others stores.

i just get sick of Sony bots thinking they are so much better than 360 players all the time. there is definitely a superiority complex with the majority of them.

Can the same not be said for any fanboy?

If this article was entitled 'Joker, exclusive on 360' and nothing was announced for PS3, wouldn't Micrsoft fanboys be running around saying 'Suck on it, bitches' and all that bullcrap as well? If this article was entitled 'Batman: Arkham Asylum coming to the Wii with extra content' would Nintendo dick-weeds not do the same?

At the end of the day fanboys are fanboys and will flaunt meaningless shit 'til the end of eternity; it happened with MGS4, LBP, KZ2 and it happened with the exclusive DLC for GTA4, Fallout 3 and I have no doubt it will happen with God of War 3 and Halo 4.

And yeah, when you guys get an announcement for Bane or someone (personally I'm thinking Harley Quinn, since that way the developers won't have to work on making even more extra challenge maps for free and the only difference between the DLC is who people will use, then they can perhaps focus on making others to be paid for) the fanboys will feel a kick in the nuts and you can feel free to rub it in their self-righteous faces... my points are, there's no point letting them get to you... and more importantly never use them as an excuse to insult my Mistah J

but PS3 fanboys do it to a higher degree than others. i dont do that. i never act that way even though i prefer 360.

even when it was announced last year that FF13 was coming to 360 as well, i only laughed for a few minutes, and only at one of my friends who owns a PS3. but we make fun of each other a lot so its all good.

yeah fanboys can be complete pains most all the time, but it seems like Sony fans like to rub things in a lot more than others.

          Bull.Shit.

I have a PS3 and not a 360, because I prefer the the PS3. But when shit like this happens, I don't feel the need to rub it in ANYONE's face, I just announce my happiness about it. In fact, this could have been a multiplatform announcement and I still would have been ecstatic at free Joker challenge maps. You see there's a difference between fans and fanboys/girls, and that difference is fans of a console prefer it for genuine reasons and understand why the other consoles are so popular, having some level of intelligence and an ability to discuss things about them; fanboys of consoles prefer it because of stupid generic reasons and are complete idiots who, if you question them, will turn into whiny little bitches and talk the biggest load of bull you've ever heard.

The only reason you think Sony fanboys are worse is because you don't have to deal with Microsoft fanboys, because you yourself are a 360 owner so you don't have Rtarded, Halo-bumming dickweeds talking about why the 360 is so much better all the time, you only hear the Sony nob jocks when they talk shit. It's like when white people think racism isn't a big problem anymore, because they mostly don't have to deal with it.

As a matter of fact to say one set of fanboys is worse then another, is a pretty *bleep*ing fanboy-like statement to make in itself.

"As a matter of fact to say one set of fanboys is worse then another, is a pretty *bleep*ing fanboy-like statement to make in itself."

no its not. like you said, i dont notice 360 fanboyism cause i own the system. it seems PS3 fans are more fanboyish cause i dont own a PS3. its not that i dont like other systems. i own a PSP and DS and i play Wii occasionally. i wouldnt mind having a PS3 once i can justify slapping down a couple hundred for one. once there are more games i want, such as GOW3.

All I'm saying is think before you speak. It doesn't hurt and helps a lot. Don't lash out because of fanboys; who gives a *bleep* what they think? They don't matter, so don't let them get to you, 'cause all that will happen out of that is you'll turn into one yourself, the first steps being degrading something you would otherwise not just to piss them off and claiming one set it worse then the other.

Fanboys are dipshits, so why care?

For the record; Tiger of Wu is completely wrong when discussing a Joker vs Bane matchup. You are severely under-rating Bane as an individual. We all know about his superhuman-like strength, and even though you acnkowledged his smarts when it comes to battle, you seem to be forgetting that Bane is a fantastic detective and investigator, much like Batman. Bane figured out Batman's identity just from watching his movements, and then devised the plan to lure him to the Wayne Manor so he could snap Bruce's back in two.

Bane would have his way with almost anyone in the Batman universe. Joker is NOT smarter than Bane. Few characters in that world are. Joker has better people skills so he might be able to get a gang on his side that could subdue Bane, but one-on-one, its no match.

However, I think in this game, they might dumb-down Bane quite a bit. That would suck.

I didn't openly acknowledge Bane's full intelligence in that post because it was mostly irrelevant, since we were talking challenge maps.

I did, however, take it into account when I thought about this a long time ago during my comic book nerd phase; just because I didn't vocalize every point in that post doesn't mean I didn't think about them. You see, saying Bane is better then Joker without Joker having people to back him up who he cleverly tricked into doing most of his dirty work is like saying Batman would somewhat easily beat the crap out of Bane were he not to have Poison; it's probably true, yeah, but it still doesn't change the fact that they do have them so they should be taken into account. Something else to remember is that more often then not Joker isn't trying to kill Batman, most of the time he's trying to mentally break him and a few times he has succeeded... momentarily... if Joker did want to truly kill the Batman, no games, no mind-tricks, no fun-time cliches, I believe he would be able to do it a lot easier then people think.

But before we have a complete nerd-off, let us do a first for Gamegrep and agree to disagree

And I'm hoping they don't. They're sticking closer to the comics so they shouldn't anyway... that said, maybe they'll have him be the intelligent normal Bane to begin with and then for the sake of some levels/boss fights or fan service or something he'll get juiced up and turn into the monster the majority of people know.

          DragonMaster Dyne Apr 28, 09
Yeah, I agree that Joker could have killed Batman at some point. Heck, quite a few of Batman's foes could have killed him. But, that's what makes the Joker-Batman relationship so unique. Neither man would ever kill the other, so their feud is almost eternal.

As for Bane; I envision an encounter where you are being almost "tracked" by Bane throughout an area of Arkham. Like, Bane will bust through a wall and you'll fight him for a bit, then he'll vanish. Bane will taunt you here and there before appearing again. Batman will also have to avoid little traps set by Bane before the final encounter takes place.

That would be epic and would due Bane justice. I just can't see them doing that. I think it'll just be an all-out brawl which would let me down a bit.
