If you're still waiting for Nintendo's big titles, then you might be pleased with this news. To counteract the Wii and DS's slowing sales, Reggie has revealed that Nintendo have some "major games" up their sleeve...

With recent monthly market figures suggesting the videogame industry is not immune to the pressures of recession and that hardware leader Nintendo could finally be losing momentum, the Japanese gaming giant has indicated its intent to arrest any negative shift with a selection of significant software releases.

With a clear air of confidence, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime reacted to the recent downturn by telling the Reuters news agency Nintendo has major games in the pipeline that will inspire “very strong hardware sales” for both the Wii and DS platforms.

"Yes we have big games planned. As for publishers? Meh stuff it. Just release the titles in Japan".

I want my Fatal Frame IV. In english.

Give us Fatal Frame IV or give us death!
Actually on a second thought a lot of people would probably wind up dieing if we said that >_<
Seriously what is the harm in releasing FFIV, if it sells badly tough Ninty are by far the most successful company on the gaming market, I highly doubt it'd hurt them at all if it didn't sell. And if it does they get profit.
I don't think we'll ever understand Ninty sales logic.

As for 'major games' I'm not even going to hazard a guess. Low expectations leads to less dissapointment.

There is harm in releasing Fatal Frame IV. It's the fact that localizing it will take up time that could be spent on more marketable games.

Trust me, I'm a MOTHER fan.

Also, even if they release a game, the game needs to sell enough copies to match the time and effort investment it took, acording to Reggie.

If Nintendo are worried about losing time and money, the least they could do is sell the rights of Fatal Frame IV to another publisher... or even sell the rights back to Tecmo.

I understand them not wanting to publish a game that might tarnish their image or not make them the money they want. But I don't understand them buying the rights to a title then not doing anything with it.

The game is on Wii, production costs wont run as high as other games. It would sell loads, as evident by all the news articles complaining about the publisher etc. If there was no fanbase or consumer wanting the product then these articles would not be made because websites host them to draw in hits, and by having articles on a game which no one would buy or cares about doesn't attract a lot of views.

Nintendo is just R tarded when it comes to localization, there communication between continents is appealing.

I have a few words to reply:

There is one coming out on DS. Stop asking too much and be patient.

Also, I'm sure Pikmin 3 is a given for E3. Miyamoto's "We're making Pikmin" wasn't exactly the most informative announcement last year.

    Hmm...

    High Chances:
    New Mario
    New Kirby
New Pokemon (there needs to be like two new ones a year or fans go rabid, but it won't come till 2010)
    New Pikmin
    New Shovelware
    My wants:
    New IP
FFIV (to stop the rabid fan)
Some MOTHER compilation, even if Japan only. I'll just import. (Mostly MOTHER 1+2+3 in 3D)

There's a 3D Earthbound in the works at starmen IIRC. :3

The only thing I want on that list is Pikmin, I've had enough of italians and an extra 108 or so Pogeymanz to catch with the same storyline again.

And maybe Kirby, Those games were "fun"...

Hmm... Well, I certainly hope that they have some good titles, some good new franchises instead of just another Mario or Zelda, especially after seeing this new Zelda game... ain't looking to good to me so far... so yeah, I'd be nice for this to be true but I'm calling Reggie a liar on this, I doubt they have anything that is actually worthwhile.
