For those of you in North America who are looking for that "sweet loot" that only seems to be obtainable in Japan wait no further. I just got word that Play-Asia is now offering a limited edition version of the DS Lite which is 'themed' with the latest Final Fantasy game for the DS; Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings.

The DS is white in color with the FFXII logo and a few of the Revenant Wings characters on the top of the DS Lite.

Within the box you get:

1x Nintendo DS Lite; Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings Sky Pirate Edition
1x Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings
1x Power Supply (110V)
2x DS Lite Stylus'
1x GBA cartridge slot cover
1x Strap
1x Manual in Japanese

This is a Japanese DS Lite but the voltage is 110V so the AC charger will work for you (If you're in North America). Note that with Japanese DS' you do get the option when you first start up the DS on which language you want to use by default so you can easily set it to English.

Pricing is as follows:
$299.90 USD
$325.32 CAD (As given by Play-Asia)
222.93£ EUR (As given by xe.com conversion)

Be sure to visit the product page on Play-Asia to pick up your copy.

This interested me until I saw the suggested retail price. Eh, seems like a scam to get money.

    Plus, is it region locked?

I don't think its a scam to get money.

Limited Edition products are usually more. Its a marketing thing.

No, the DS aren't region locked. You pay the higher price because it's a limited edition version of the DS Lite. Limited Edition = normal DS Lite with logo of some sort painted on it.

You also get the game so that affects the total price, as well.

Yes, that would total up to a price of about $200. Because it is limited edition it must cost $100 more? This is simply using a popular franchise to gain interest in it, and that, in my eyes, is a scam for money.

If you believe it to be a scam get in contact with Play-Asia and Square Enix to voice your opinion on the matter. It's the same as the Limited Edition version of FFXII for PS2. People payed something like $20 more for it and all it did was come in a tin case and had a bonus DVD.

It was 10$ not 20$ and it's totally worth it.

Yea i agree, but the thing is the limited edition of FF12 was that it came with fan art and etc. I agree with tekmosis totally a scam. Just like that special edition GTAIV crap for 90 dollars its a scam for money.

$352 Canadian? No thanks I'll pass. I don't plan on spending that much on a video game system unless I'm really desparate. It is a rip-off but nonetheless still pretty cool.

    That's a sexy hardware. Honestly.

Get real. Nothing sexy about that.

Wow that's a lot of money. If I wanted that system enough, like almost desperate, then I might buy it. But I'll stick with my black DS.

It looks awesome, I just don't want to pay that much for a DS.

Wow finalblade98 you're right! Your comments are of course not full of fanboy trash, why didn't I believe you before.

As for the DS Lite, looks pretty decent, but I am fine with the normal one. I might pick up the game itself though.

That's a bit expensive for me. That still looks nice; really nice.

Yeah, it looks great, but cost way too much for my taste...

$300? I can see $200 or even $250...but with $300 I'd be better off getting a Wii. Meh, huge FF fans will probably pick this up, as well as collectors since this is a Limited Edition. I gotta admit, though, it does look appealing.

I would get it if I would be Final Fatasy fun, or maybe I would get it now, but again, the price is way too much...

I'm fine with my DS thanks. I'm not going to pay a couple hundred more for absolutely no extra features. :X

Yeah, I thought this was the coolest thing ever until I saw the 300 dollar price tag. I know it's limited edition, but I'd rather wait and have the US version of the game than have a few cool logos on teh Lite.

Although the artwork is pretty kickass...

I'd get one, if it weren't for the hefty pricing. Looks uber awesome, though. Darn companies and their money-making schemes. >_>

If my parents would buy it for me, then I would take it, no problem.

It looks beautiful. Too bad I already have a DS Lite. I think for the amount of money you can spend on that pack, you could buy a Wii and another game instead. I don't think it's worth it.
