Wii Homebrew users are given a higher charge for repairs then people without it. This challenges the fact, is Homebrew worth getting if you can get bricked and recieve extra repair cost. Whether it seems fair or not, it appears to be happening.

Legal is preparing the letter which you can send to the consumer. Please note the price will be higher for such a Repair as well, as soon as it is fixed. Approx 18O€-21O€, but please wait for our documents. For the current situaiton you can use a price of 120€ for
such kind of issues.

"Should Nintendo have to pay to repair hacked Wiis under warranty? Maybe not, but they have no (moral) right to gouge customers out of spite for having the HBC installed."

    Why are Nintendo being such douchebags lately?

      Because homebrew is 99% of the time used for illegal uses. If you steal something, don't call the shop owner a "douchebag".

          It was an expresion. I know it's not a real stactic. It has more effect than saying "most of the time".

    Probably because they don't want hacking, but I don't see why its such a big deal if it doesn't effect their sales.

    I applaud ninty for breaking down on hackers/homebrewers. If they wanted people to have homebrew, they would have included it in the system safely.

      We bought the thing, we have every right to hack it as long as we don't pirate.

        it's the job of a software/hardware vendor to treat all of their customers like criminals, tho. :}

        Exactly. Nintendo isn't taking away you're right to hack or use homebrew, they only discourage it by adding additional fee for repairs.

    It is soo totaly worth it.

    Homebrew is about the only thing preventing my Wii from being a paper weight.
    And bricking it is not an issue if you use the Homebrew Browser to download your apps, and do your research before running other programs or games from other countries, also there are some cheap things you can try before you send a bricked Wii to Nintendo.

    If Nintendo takes this stance worldwide then I foresee many third party repair websites opening up that offer repairs for modded Wiis.

    Hacking the wii is fun. Super Smash Bros Brawl for instance.

    I can't afford an "Extra cost" though, when it comes to consoles my parents are very stingy. :3
