Because...its Monster Hunter. But like I said, I know its Japanese. They have different tastes over there.

The fact that a monster hunting portable game beat one of the deepest and most compelling games of this generation is what's hard to understand.

No its not. MGS4 won Highest quality award. MH won because of its huge success in Japan, its a really deep game. But at the end of the day, it doesn't mean crap and people need to put their pride in a game behind them.

you say that like monster hunter isn't deep. monster hunter is immensely deep - most people who really play the game have several hundred hours on it before they even come near to completion. the weapon crafting and material gathering systems are massive, and a single fight against a major monster can last 50 minutes. and that's if you don't run out of time fighting it.

really, have you ever even played the game? this seems more like mgs4butthurt than anything to me.

I played MHF, but the game was meh to me. Clunky controls, difficult to understand, Raptors and Dragons overpowered, ect.

If monster Hunter was done with better controls, I'd see why it would win the award. It has a good premise and everything.

i can see where Red 9's coming from about MGS4 not winning top honors, but i do know that MH is really quite deep and apparently pretty fun.
