Well it seems one little three-and-a-half year old by the name of Adam McConnell has gone and done it. Father Brian left his Wii to little Adam for a session of Wii sports tennis. Unknown to dear dad at the time was the extent of his son's anger problems. The toddler literally destroyed their 42-inch plasma TV. Now he bans his son for 2 weeks and I'm sure he will be watching like a hawk on mice.

But the real shocker is the wii is capable of causing major damage? I didn't know that, I guess if its in the wrong hands lol .

It's bad enough when you leave the Wii to adults, but kids can cause major damage too. Three and a half year old Adam McConnell from London caused his dad all sorts of headaches after smashing up a 42-inch plasma TV worth almost US$ 2,000.

After leaving his son to play Wii Sports Tennis, Brian was in shock to find his pricey TV in ruins. "When I ran back in Adam was using the handset to smash the TV screen." Seems like little Adam lost a tennis game and went mad, causing major damage that the Wii is known for.

With a lesson learned, Brian now banned his kid from the Wii for two weeks and promised to keep a closer eye on him. Adam may have potential to be the next John McEnroe according to his dad, but even big boys would cringe at the sight of a fallen monster TV.

I guess Nintendo still needs to work out how to get younger children to follow all those Wiimote "safety precautions".

Had a close call with my friend when he was going crazy on the Tennis on WiiSports, I had to take over and calm him down incase it flew off his wrists into the TV.

Uh ... is anyone seeing the problem with someone letting a three-year-old child play video games ? Seriously, it can't just be me.

"Leaving his three year old son to play..." Who leaves their three year old alone in a room filled with expensive technology?

I can even understand the people that went crazy and broke their Wii-straps and broke their TV, but this is just ridiculous.

How does this having anything to do with Wii's safety instructions? It is not like the wrist strap broke and the Wiimote went flying into the TV, the kid literally took the Wiimote and was hitting the TV with it. The same damage could have been done with anything.

It is the guys own fault for leaving a three year old unattended anyway.

The problem I see with letting a three year old playing a Wii is that they left him un-supervised. Maybe if 'Adam" had stayed and made sure then maybe his 42" tv would still be working.

I wonder if it had warranty on it...

....and this poses any relevance to the Wii or the 7th gen console war, how?

Some kid got angry because he lost at a video game. Who hasn't gotten angry at losing at a video game once ever before?

Maybe young Adam and his parents have learned a lesson from this?

Never leave your 3 year old son in a room with expensive items.

The Wii is certainly not to blame here. Leaving a three year old to play the Wii isn't the cleverest thing to do if nobody is going to watch them. Heck my 4 year old sister can cause enough damage with her fists, nevermind a Wiimote.

Well i posted this not cause its the wii is the problem, i just found this funny and wondered what you guys thought. And yes its the father fault so his tv deserved to get smashed. But seriously the article stated that his father compared him to John McEnroe That has to be the funniest thing i ever read.

This makes me feel like crying. Seriously.
I've been in a lot of financial problems, so I know what it feels like.
Edit: Wait, did they have a warranty or anything?

It's when you get little brats like this, no matter how old, that makes me wish that corporal punishment was still allowed here in Britain. What's the law on that in America?

It is really the parents fault, leaving a three-year-old brat alone with a wii and 42" TV. Shame really.

And how long would you have banned him from. Its not the kids fault that his tv was destroyed. Its the father who leave him playing it.

I really don't even see the use of banning a three and a half year old kid. Does anyone honestly think that this kid is going to learn anything for being banned from playing a video game system?

It's the dad's fault for leaving his 3 year old son unattended. Lucky for the dad nothing happened to the toddler. But yeah toddlers don't really need to be playing videogames anyways especially all by themselves. To bad for the dad, that's about $2000 dollars just thrown in the garbage unless he had a warranty on the TV. Hopefully the dad will watch his child better next time.
