You probably really loved playing Morrowind or Oblivion, and cannot wait for the next Elder Scrolls game. Well Bethesda has announced that they don't plan on announcing anything, not for a while. So that gives you enough time to fully complete Fallout 3.

At a recent press event, Bethesda's VP of Marketing and Public Relations Pete Hines told attendees not to hold their breath in regards to a new game in the Elder Scrolls franchise. The team led by Todd Howard that is responsible for the Elder Scrolls games -- including Morrowind and Oblivion – as well as Fallout 3 will remain quiet for now. As Hines plainly stated, "The next big project announcement is not coming anytime soon."

They're not that huge a studio, and they already have a full plate.

What are they working on? I figured they would have moved to Elder Scrolls V since they're outsourcing development on Fallout Vegas.

        Want the list?

        • "Something" to do with Oblivion...not said what except it's not DLC

        • Elder Scrolls V...been in development since 2006 since Beth soft work with 4 year deadlines (as evident with Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3)

        • Fallout: New Vegas

        • Rogue Warrior

        • Fallout 4 (said sometime before 2018 but Tod Howard himself said 3-4 years, which confirms the 4 year deadline they work too)

        • Fallout 3 DLC

        • Fallout Online (Either they give rights to someone else or Interplay seriously kick themselves up the ass)

        • Wet

        • and whatever they are doing with Splash Damage

They have 2 Beth Soft studios, Splash Damage, Zenimax Online Studio and the ability to throw the Fallout franchise to a fellow developer wanting the challenge (meaning Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout Online will go to someone else no doubt)

Still means work on their schedule...the list above is what is on the schedule, regardless whether or not they are developing it, publishing it or palming it off onto another company

Aye was expecting this sooner or later especially the way they continue to pile things up in the to-do list. We'll hear something towards the end of 2009 and early into 2010

they have to be working on more than just DLC for Fallout 3. they arent doing New Vegas, so the only thing else is a new IP that they are keeping secret, unless they are doing ES5.
