The Xbox 360 isn't the most popular console in Hong Kong, so Microsoft sent a Star Ocean 4 cosplayer and a truck decked out in Xbox goodies into the streets to help promote the console. Good marketing strategy, or a waste of time?

Hong Kong is privy to strong marketing pushes from Microsoft. Earlier this year Hong Kong’s Xbox division gave away gold Xbox 360s . Their latest push? An Xbox 360 truck carrying LCD TVs hooked up with Xbox 360 games.

I think Asia is still pissed off about that one game that was supposed to be exclusive to 360 being revamped with extras for the PS3.....sorry can't remember name right now, will have to research it and edit post later.

    Edit: Tales of Vesperia

Send out big van into Hong Kong with a Star Ocean cosplayer giving out goodies... good.

Have GTA, Halo Wars and Gears of War on the side of it... bad.

Give them what they want and just advertise the crap out of every exclusive (and non-exclusive, for that matter) JRPG and you'll make some headway. Don't try to appeal to Japan with GTA, Halo and GoW, even with the cosplayer and the few titles popular there. You don't empty a round into a shielded enemy and then shoot yourself in the foot.

They aren't in Japan though, so why try to appeal to them whilst using this truck in China?

        *facepalm*

Yeah, for some reason my eyes read Hong Kong and my mind thought Tokyo. One of those stupid moments... of course, an extreme one.

Lol, at least they are nearby and both are Asian countries. I hear of Koreans and Japanese people playing video games, but are the Chinese that big in gaming?
