In a recent interview with the head of R & D for Capcom, he stated that Capcom will not use the Sixaxis motion sensing feature in any of their upcoming PS3 games. He continued on saying that Sony just implemented the feature to be different rather than be innovative like Nintendo.

On Gamer.TV on Sunday there was an interview with the Head of R & D for Capcom. He stated that Capcom will not be using the motion-sensing capabilities of the Sixaxis controller in any of their upcoming PS3 games. Simply because they believe that Sony implemented it just to be different, rather than to be innovative like Nintendo. Those are harsh words from Capcom. I thought that Devil May Cry was going to use it?

I'm sure there's a lot of actions in the real world that are just like shaking a basket.

"to be different, rather than to be innovative" uh...what? so being unique means Capcom isn't going to use a feature?

I fail to see what makes these words "harsh."

Well, I really doubt anybody is going to die because Devil May Cry is not going to use the feature...

I don't see how those words were "harsh". I see that more as just as an opinion.

Hardly matters to whoever's gonna buy the game. It'll still probably be really good. And at the end of the day, if it doesn't sell well because of the lack of SIXAXIS, its effectively Capcom's loss.

Interesting information, I wonder if any other companies will feel the same way as Capcom do about this.

Wow, can Capcom get anymore childish? To say that they're not gonna use it because it's not "innovative" and it's only "different"...(can't even use the right words)

What's next Capcom? Gonna take away the future rumble feature because it's the same thing everyone's using nowadays?

When was the last time that Capcom did something unique, or different? Last I checked it's a rehashed megaman game every month, countless street fighter games, and they're going on DMC number.. what? 4? Let's not forget all the 'capcom collections', and Capcom VS snk, capcom vs marvel.. capcom vs every damn thing. I believe I've made my point.

The last unique game they actually did was Okami and that was a awesome game. Clover Studio's is Capcom just in case you didn't know.

Clover Studios is dead, it doesn't exist anymore.

It's true but Clover Studio's are reborn as Seeds. Seeds is currently small in employee's as it's only just begun. There are many names you would recognise that are in this company, such as:

Hideki Kamiya (Okami, Viewtiful Joe, Viewtiful Joe 2, Devil May Cry)
Nao Ueda (Okami, Resident Evil 4)
Yuta Kimura (Okami, Shadow of the Colossus)
Mari Shimazaki (Okami) and Masami Ueda (Okami, Viewtiful Joe, Viewtiful Joe 2).

And other specially selected staff members. Although this time Seeds is not under Capcom and do not have the rights to any games they've made while under Capcom. So no sequels for Okami unless they purchase the rights.

I was watching gamertv when this was on. Not exactly what he said, he said he wasn't going to use it because he has no need for it and unlike other companies he's not going to use it just to put a bulletpoint on the back of the box.

I heard it first hand, if you can call TV first hand.

    Final Blade May 29, 07
Well its not true anyway, i mean he says that now but watch when one game uses it and gets massive reviews and money they will use it then. I wont be surprised if they do, Just a thought i thought capcom wants money. And wouldnt using the six axis controller feature make them more money.

    ITANI May 29, 07
Not really because it won't stop me from purchasing a game just because it doesn't use the Sixaxis.

You know i saw a similar article to this on another site they said this is just a rumor and we shouldnt take this for real. Like i said its not true anyway.

If it were true, I can kind of see where Capcom would be coming from a bit. There's no incentive for cross-platform games to implement the technology. You have to implement the Wii's controller because that's all it has. The PS3 controller still has a traditional controller configuration. So why take the resources to remake control schemes when it can already do the same as the 360 version...

If that was the case, they surely expressed themselves with dead wrong words. They should've just said that they didn't want to use it because they were too lazy to implement the Sixaxis functions.

Yea but as if they want to admit that.
