Pokemon fansites all over the web are going absolutely nuts over a recent imminent announcement of a major Pokemon game. Next Sunday on Pokemon Sunday (Japan's anime plus anything Pokemon show) is what many are expecting to be the official unveiling of Pokemon Gold and Pokemon Silver remakes. Aside from Japanese magazines having a hand in this, possibly the biggest giveaway of it all was a display of gold and silver party balls displayed during the show.

The most recent episode previewed the annnouncement, showing two balls, one gold and one silver, which will be opened to unveil the announcement's subject. Based on this as well as the fact that the game is said to have been the center of much speculation, many fans believe that the announcement will pertain to two titles: the Pokémon Gold and Silver remakes. It is also theorized that Junichi Masuda will appear on the show to make the announcement, since he did so both last month and the month prior in regard to other game-related scoops.
The next issue of CoroCoro, which will be released May 15, is likely to contain the announcement as well.

Yes I would. I don't see anything a GS remake could offer that isn't already in the current gen games (aside from a nostalgia trip).

And before you say it, all Pokemon (excluding Celebi and I think Jirachi) can be obtained through transfer from the GBA games.

methinks it'll just be another spin-off, that has to do with metals in one part of the game or sumthin

If they do finally remake Gold and Silver then that will be awesome as they are definitely my favorite versions of Pokemon.

a). Pokemon Gold and Silver are easily still the best in the series.

b). The internal battery in my Gold broke and so I can't play it anymore.

I say bring it on. =D.

If I remember right there's some sort of reset function that sorts the battery out. Mine dried up a few years ago, then I did that, and it still works to this day. Google it or something I dont remember how dude.

Holy shit. I love Gold and Silver as much as the next person but how about you idiots at Nintendo do something new? Considering you've released to us basically the same damn Pokemon game over and over.

well they have to remake gold and silver because when the advanced versions came out there was no way to transfer pokemon over to the gba ones since there was no gb/p to gba or gbc to gba link cable. Besides they remade red and green so it isnt hard to suspect g/s remakes. only question is will they be for the ds or the gba?

Red + Blue were for GB, remakes for GBA, thus Gold + Silver remakes will be on DS. I will get them if they come out though. Gold + Silver were *bleep*ing awesome.

Remakes would be great, I love playing the Blue and Red remakes so these should be just as awesome.

Hopefully if they are going to do remakes they won't *bleep* them up like they did with Firered and Leafgreen. But honestly what they need to be doing is taking the series in a fresh direction instead of reusing the same basic formula.

I won't get my hopes up, but I really would love a Blue/Red/Gold/Silver remake for the DS. It's a very nostalgic series for me, but I can't stand the new Pokemon at all or any present day incarnation of the franchise.

ah man dont say nostalgia, I'm gonna get all choked up now. Back in the days when everything was awesome and all was right with the world All you needed was a gameboy, some sandwiches and a sick note for school. But now they're gonna ruin it, remake it now and screw it up, like everything else. Dig it up and screw it a few times and then bury it again. why, nintendo? WHY?

That's Bobo. If you sponsor him for just 3 pounds a month he'll be given new nintendo games to play instead of whored out remakes and rebakes. Act now. Save lives.

Unless your monkey's ass is constantly lit on fire while kicking ass over certain types weak to it, nobody will care.
