More rumours are now swirling around about Final Fantasy VII is being made for the PS3 only. As the rumours increase my hope increases also. Plus this time it's come from a reliable source. So we can only hope for the best.
A french RPG magazine called Gameplay RPG had a official statement from Square Enix saying "remake from very appreciated FFVII on PS3, only". And what makes it more interesting that the magazine says Square Enix should also have another demonstration demo at it's next Square Enix party, which is certainly a plus for both Sony and Square Enix if this is all true. Also people who buy the magazine had posted feedback on the Internet as soon as they read this. Here is some feedback from readers:
"Yeah but this time around, it's not just some random folk spreading some rumours but an highly respected magazine specialized in RPGs".
"GameplayRPG is a awesome magazine for the lovers of rpg and survival, I always buy this mag. I really hope this is true (I have the magazine and the articles is a true one).
lets hope".
Square Enix has been remaking all it's Final Fantasy games on handhelds and it stopped on Final Fantasy VI indicating VII is next. What do you all think?
"THE SHOCK! At a few hours of looping, here are that fall between my hands an official official statement from SE indicating the "remake from very appreciated FF VII on Ps3, only". Whereas Sony was made bad blood with all these exclusivenesses which pass to him under the nose, veiled that an advertisement comes to flatter its catalogue. SE does not finish any surprising since, rappellons it, since the technological demo of FF VII for annopncer the arrival of the PS3, nothing had not filtered (...) a demonstration should be presented at next SquareEnix Party."

It's about time they made one. I haven't got the original myself (I've played it on my friend's PlayStation once), so I'll be looking forward to this, if it does come about.
However, I hope that it won't simply be FFVII with better graphics. Hopefully, some other changes to things like gameplay and such will arise.
There is always fads; If Square Enix quits making these games, then the older game and eventually the new ones will get appreciated more. People wouldn't be so keen to buy the latest and greatest FF game and then waste their money on a remake. The old version of FFVII was fine, I enjoyed every bit.
This series is one of the best gaming series out there, and I feel if Square keeps making these games, the series will lose it's fun factor. We have a legend in our hands, and we do not want that legend to seep through our fingers.
