It's not the game, man. The game is the spark that lights the fuse. Swap that out for religion, politics, alcohol, drugs or just good old fashioned disagreements and disputes. People get angry, and it escalates. You could get rid of games altogether; people will simply find another reason to kill each other. You need to draw some sort of line, where you stop, and cool off, and let it go. because something like this, it's not worth killing over, is it? and if you cant do that, if you cant stop, then you need to go find help. Or channel it somewhere, find an outlet. Sports, music or art, join the army, whatever works man. But the point is, if you assign no value to human life, if you destroy a life so easily, if you end it so lightly, then you're gonna end your own just as quickly, and easily, and lightly. And what a waste that is. What a waste, when you could live, and let live, instead. What's wrong with people man. Who knows.

Carouselambra's condolences to the families of these people. Must be rough for both sides.

This is the kind of thing that makes me think humans don't deserve to exist.

I've been hearing a lot of really screwed up stories that make me hate humans as an entire organic race. Sadly enough, this doesn't even top that list of "WTF" stuff I've heard/read this week.

Wonder if that other warrant was related to a violent crime as well.

Which is why I no longer have any real desire to read newspapers. It's just the way of the world we live in.

I think this is a seriously sad and stupid story. It's things like this that fuel pesky lawyers claims against video games and violence.

Guys goes to prison. Shower rape. The system works.

Let's face it, serial killers in prison find out you killed a guy over a video game and your ass belongs to them. *bleep*ing piece of shit.

I dont think bastards, nutjobs and serial killers have a need to morally justify their murdering and raping.

It's not about morally justifying it, it's about the biggest pussy being the one who becomes the bitch.

        This guy shot someone over a video-game. A video-game.

He's going to be the bitch.

There was this documentary and apparently rapists and wife beaters are top priority.

Then they said that they rape first timers to "Make sure they learn there lesson".
And if someone gets sent back in they rape them so "They learn properly this time".

There's a whole hierarchy and everything, lol crazy nutjobs.

ah right fair enough. Who knows, maybe he was a pyschopathic axe killer in his spare time. In a confined situation like that, prison, it's more a matter of stepping up and looking out for yourself, anyway. You could be a serial killer, or a drug dealer, or a fraudster, whatever you're in there for, it's not a nice place; there's no "good" crime, there's nothing that makes you above the filth. Most likely people are gonna wanna do things, or test you, regardless of how big or small your crime was. So you have to be prepared to shank em in the gut with a screwdriver if that happens. Or else you'r gonna get screwed. Why let that happen when you can shank em instead, I ask. up the stakes. dr pepper what's the worst that can happen you're already IN prison, and they dont have the death penalty here. You could get shanked back I suppose. In your sleep. With a broken lightbulb. That's still better than getting screwed. Dead is better than submission man. Much better.

That's a bit of a myth anyway man, it doesnt happen in all but the dirtiest worst of prisons. Dont break the law, and you wont have to worry about it anyway

Anyway prison plans aside, this reminds me of a story here a few months ago; one boy walked in a shop, and didnt walk out. And how it went is, some minor small incident happend between him and another kid. And it escalated, and the kid hit him, with a bottle. And the other kid, the one that walked in, he didnt walk out. He died. And you feel for both people there; number one, obviously the kid that got killed - maybe he instigated it maybe he didnt, but you cant say he DESERVED it, either way. and number 2, the kid that lost his temper and hit that other kid. He wasnt trying to kill him, he simply saw red. What can you do, in a situation like that. Crime of passion innit. But with this here, this story, this man, had to physically get up, leave his house, go to his friends house, and conciously decide to kill him (im assuming they were playing on live, if not then still, he shot him. Unless he keeps his gun handy for opening beers, again he had to conciously go and get it). You cant empathise with that. Its very difficult to understand - not only is this something not worth killing over; but this is something, not worth ANYTHING. A game. If you get angry, do what carouselambra does throw the controller at the tv or something man. You can replace tv's, you can replace controllers. You cant replace People.

Sorry, read the first bit and got bored (not taking the mick or anything, really, but that is just the case).

In reply to the first bit though, it's not about a 'good' crime. It's about who people would rather target; a little dweeb who killed someone over a video-game, or a gargantuan serial killer who was shot five times and still managed to break a cops neck before finally going down, and still survived. He'll be an easy target, so he better sleep with his ass to the wall... or, since he killed a guy over CoD, not.

And yeah Slumpy, rapists and wife beaters are top priority. I think it's about a punishment to fit the crime (ohdear) or something. I ain't heard anything about raping first timers though

Kind of harsh if someone went in for repeated petty theft and were only there for a week but still got the 'full experience'.

We make animals with smaller brains look way better than us with stupid shit like this. I mean, talk about taking things too seriously...people just don't use their head. Hell, if they feel like killing someone, do it over the game. At least think of the consequences, such as the jail time, the guilt of blood on your hands (let's face it, when you're caught and sent to prison, you have a lot of time on your hands to think things over), how this will affect your family...anything to decide against this aggressive behaviour.
