Electronic Theatre reports on the rumours of a publisher change for Ghostbusters: The Video Game and clarifies the details of the European launch on all systems.

Moments ago, however, Sony issued a Press Release to clarify the matter. Ghostbusters: The Video Game will arrive in Europe on PLAYSTATION 3 and PlayStation2 on 19th June, 2009, with a PlayStation Portable version scheduled to follow in the autumn. All three of these releases will be published by Sony, as opposed to ATARI, the most recently attached publisher. The game will still make it’s way to Xbox 360 and Wii, however, although at an unspecified date later this year and remaining the responsibility of ATARI.

    I was looking forward to picking up Ghostbusters on my 360 in June, but thanks to Sony being dicks, it seems i'll have to wait now.

    *bleep* you Sony.

    Lol, it makes a change to see Sony being the big meanies of the industry, I can see a lot of angry fans, but not a bulge in PS3 unit sales.

    Honestly surprised we didn't see this sooner. I was looking forward to picking up this game next month, but pushing it back actually helps my wallet with all the other releases I'm planning on picking up over the next couple of months.

    The thing is though, whats the goddamn point?

    All Sony is doing is clarifying that the EUROPEAN RELEASE is now timed.

    Seriously, how the HELL will this help their profit?
    At least with the 360 timed exclusives they make sure its WORLDWIDE ; ;

    BIG FAIL on Sony's part. Ghostbusters, although a game i was REALLY looking forward to, will NOT make me run out and buy a PS3 ; ;

    I once again conclude with
    *bleep* You Sony
