Bioshock 2 is still in production, but the makers are already discussing the possibility of a Bioshock 3. 2K Marin's creative director, Jordan Thomas, has recently revealed that the setting for Bioshock 3 might once again be Rapture.

"I absolutely believe that there might be future games set in Rapture in whatever time period," he said.

The third BioShock game could once again return to Rapture as a setting, 2K Marin's creative director, Jordan Thomas has said.

Speaking in an interview with OXM, the BioShock 2 boss said that the underwater city is "one of the characters we don't want to let go".

Biohock? That sounds like a shitty rip-off

I'm not quite sure what to make with it tbh... Can't say I would be super excited if this were true.

I loved playing the first one, it was a great game. There is no disputing that really. Two is going to be pretty good, but I get the feeling that the story isn't going to be as awesome as the first (but who can say till it comes out right?). Three? I think they should wait and see what happens with two beforehand.

There's nothing worse than milking something, and by the sounds of "the underwater city is one of the characters we don't want to let go", they could be looking to really milk Rapture for all it's worth, and that's a great ticket to kill it badly. But who knows, we'll just have to wait to find out.

I agree, having two set in Rapture is enough....Either have them move to a new location, or alter rapture to the point it isn't recognizable as we know it.

A prequel doesn't sound too bad, though I dunno how that would work ~_~

Something set in the future or modern times, might be good. Modern technology would enhance the technologies behind Rapture.

    Meh, I dunno....

But Rapture is effectively dead, it just continues to exist and nothing more. And with the continued destruction it suffers, its going to be completely reclaimed by the ocean by the modern years. Unless something happens in 2 that completely rebuilds the city.

The Bioshock movie will probably be set in Rapture.

Seriously, this much is obvious. And I don't think it's milking it, it's using one of the game's strongest points.

Exactly, it would be like having GTA without a city, or Ratchet and Clank without being set in space. A underwater Utopia is kind of a staple of Bioshock now, as are Big Daddies and Splicers. They could have gone in a whole new direction with 2, but they've kind of committed themselves now.

Yeah, if BioShock gave up its Rapture setting, I'm not sure how much I'd care for it. Although, it would be cool if the action came to the surface at some points in the game for whatever reason, if it's done right.

Maybe Bioshock 3 will be a true prequel, maybe spanning the years of Rapture and Ryan's downfall, from the creation to it's destruction

i absolutely hate when people do this. bioshock 2 isn't out, or even DATED yet, and we're already getting bioshock 3 rumors. do we really need to be doing this already? can't we wait another 3 years?

A Bioshock 3 is really too early to tell, seeing as how Bioshock 2 hasn't even been released yet and there's no telling where the plot's going to go. If Bioshock 2 sets up a sequel well enough, I have no problems with a Bioshock 3.

I can't picture a Bioshock game anywhere outside of Rapture. It has to stay there.

yeah, can't they really wait for bioshock 2 to be out for a while before they say stuff about the third. they'll more than likely change their minds later on.
