Red Dead Redemption Debut Trailer

Thats right RockStar has finally released the debut trailer for Red Dead Redemption.

"The game is set in the beginning of the 20th century; it focuses around a former outlaw, John Marston, who is sent across the troubled American Frontiers to help in bringing the rule of law. The game will utilize open-world gameplay similar to the ones of Grand Theft Auto series with sandbox environment and ability of free roaming. The variety of environment will include frontier towns, prairies and mountain passes."

A trailer for RockStar’s upcoming Western shooter Red Dead Redemption was released today, and it looks awesome. Im calling it now, out of the four Western shooters out there…This is going to be the best one.

    Man what a jip, this is a rip off of red dead revolver. That was made by rockstar, what are we supposed to pretend it doesnt exist? Ripping off their own games now, a new low. Treating us like goldfish with the 3 second memory man. Unless it's a sequel in which case kudos. high five. not for you rockstar. Not for you. They should change their name to cockstar. (BECAUSE THEY'RE A BIT GAY)

        Of course you can rip your own work off - say you make a film, it has a bit of success, and then a few years later when the hype's died down, you make another film almost EXACTLY the same as the first one, but it's not a sequel or in any other way related, and expect people not to notice. Ripping off your own work there. Same goes for games, or anything creatively based.

        But that doesnt matter anyway man, if its actually a sequel then thats cool, red dead revolver was a cool game.

          Resident Evil 5 is EXACTLY like RE4 and it isn't considered a rip off.

          Just a copy-paste and complete waste of 5 years.

          But it's really considered a rip off when you STEAL someones idea.

          You can't really steal your own idea really......

          Yeh but still it's a sequel. They share the name; resident evil 4 and then resident evil 5, they're related. Maybe they ripped the storylines off or whatever, or were lazy about it, I dunno I havent played em, but the excuse there is they're part of the same franchise.

          I'm talking about the WHOLE thing, the overlook. For example, if they were to go and make a game called "resident shmevil" where a strange zombie-like disease that isnt really zombies but actually is is plagueing the world. and it's in no way a sequel or in any way related to the resident evil game franchise, and then pretend that resident evil doesnt exist. That would be ripping off their own game. I have no idea WHY they would want to; perhaps they would do that, only if the "original" game was unsuccessful yet based on a decent concept. Or laziness maybe. Still remains that they can do that though; from the consumers point of view that's the same old gift in a different wrapping. A rip off.

          And that's what I meant about this game, red dead redemption, thats what it would be, if it were in no way related to red dead revolver. it'd be a rip-off. But it doesnt matter, no worries man, if it's a genuine sequel. I forgive em. live and let live.

    I've been interested in the western genre ever since my grandpa introduced it to me.

    I'm willing to bet that if this game has a large map, a lot of distractions from the storyline (which I heard was on the short side), and perhaps some DLC, it might be my favorite game all year.
